Are you going to postpone your order Kreso ?
I was convinced a turbo facelift would be impossible , logic dictated this if you consider GT2 and Cabrio release.
Apparently there is no logic anymore at Porsche.
No Dennis, what is done is done...
I fully agree with you-NO logic at all except new quest for money...
Ok. Now, do you plan to trade yours for facelift one next year?

ps: Don't like the new rear tail lights at all. The LED's are going to be cool but the shape is awful imho. Weird, one of the best things about the exterior of the 997 they're going to screw up.
Yeah, I'm not crazy about the new tail lights. It's going to take getting use to. I wonder how the design of such things gets approved.
It looks like a forced change for the sake of a change rather than based on a design improvement. The Turbo is far from a beautiful car but the rear of the car where the wing, tail lights & rear deck lid, back bumper (above the exhaust outlets) meet is my favorite part of the car. imho they're screwing with one of the nicest parts of the turbo for the worse. These new lights look like someone left camo on the car.
Do you really want to say that the black part in the tail lights will still be there when the car comes to the customers?
I always thought this area will be red as in case of the new Cayenne tail lights?

I thought this was a bit nagging...
Although I can perfectly understand people being upset about the facelift, it's not like as some stated earlier that your current car becomes "outdated".
Indeed I was hesitating, and when really believe the facelift was a few months away, I would have waited. But once you take the plunge there no going back, and have a supposedly "outdated" body shell does not matter than anymore.
Re. GT2, I'm pretty sure they will not update the shell.
For all others, in a few months we're all buying the new LED lights (albeit the "old" shape lights )...
Ps: here in B, is it also that difficult to get a hold of a F? Also have to rub the dealers back a lot?

Suspect P has suddenly revised its 997TT 2.0 launch timing b/c of rumors of launch of Dino in '08....rumored 5-10K/yr Dino sales could easily destabilize global mkt for $150K+ cars, esp in context of a soft US high-end economy.....
Shrewd move to "preannounce"/leak rumors of 997TT 2.0 to put poss Dino buyers in more of a wait-and-see mode....sort of like "vaporware" games in the tech industry, no?

The 996 Turbo was never facelifted. It WAS the facelift and even if you bought the first Turbo in 2000, you had the 'current' model all the way until last year. Apparently not so with the 997 Turbo.

This could make sense.
But a refresh of the GT2 or TT cab already so soon (ie MY 09)?

If I am correct, you are not totally right since upon the 996 facelift the 996TT featured the glovebox also (which was part of the 986/996 facelift).

Indeed it would make sense, but on the German board RC stated otherwise, i.e. the led taillights were already ready upon the 997 TT launch but PAG stayed with the original design for mainly two reasons: 1) it would increase production costs 2) they didn't want to repeat the same mistake again (launching the 996 TT based on the then-upcoming 996 facelift design) because they realised the design novelty wore off by the time they released the 996 facelift.

Well...if the facelift is coming so early...this means that i could put my hands on a 997TT a lot earlier than i was thinking before. That's the only good point.
The drawback is that Porsches will now be losing their value a lot faster than before. Bastards...

My God, you're right! That means that one could get a 2006 car for close to 100k EURO in a year or so .

yes . At the moment it's already possible to find 997TT with 30K km on at 110k EURO so i think at april, after the facelift announcement, you will find the same cars around 90k:
