Any way to confirm whether it is Horizon or Fountain Blue? Also, what was the interior color?
I'm seriously considering Horizon or Fountain for my next 997S Cab with a Metropol Blue top and Sea Blue interior and Horizon/Fountain painted interior parts. Would love to see a pic of that if anyone has one.

Pass. Could be any colour - but Horizon Blue is the closest 'official' match I've seen. Was driving past so didn't check the interior (or get more than this one quick shot).
If it's around later this week I'll have a look & take some better pictures - but it looked like it was just visiting (parked on the road outside rather than on the forecourt).

I'm thinking of doing fountain over black for my 997tt. It depends how well my dealer takes care of me when I order. From what I gather horizon has slightly more of a subtle lavender mixed with the blue, where fountain has more of a medium silver hue to it. If you do a google search for horizon blue you can see some of the lavender under artificial lighting. Atomic80 has posted some good shots of fountain blue if you search here.

Thanks. But it's still so hard to tell the difference between them unless they are in the same lighting conditions. For what it's worth, here's the actual paint mix:
Horizon Blue Metallic
0.724 Fine Silver
0.080 Violet
0.153 Light Blue
0.016 Black
0.018 Brilliant Silver
0.009 White
Fountain Blue
0.298 Fine Silver
0.346 Brilliant Silver
0.156 Blue
0.161 Brilliant Gold
0.027 Violet
0.005 White
0.007 Black
They have a pretty similar mix of silver and blue. Horizon seems to have more violet, while Fountain has the noticeable addition of gold.

Exquisite colours both of them! Either choice would make a Porsche look great. My 997S is in Arctic Silver and I can't recall if either of these blues were available for the 2006 model year. I'd hate to know they were, for I would rather have either of these colours in lieu of Artic Silver, which is not bad at all, but just so common.

I can't believe this thread was started, as I have been debating between fountain & horizon blue for my paint to sample 911 (am waiting for the facelift), and I have been dying to see more photos. Does anyone know where I can get paint samples (touch up bottles, or whatever) of each? I ordered a sample of horizon off a PPG web site, but I have not been able to find fountain anywhere. U-Boat Commander, where did you get the info on the ingredients in each? Are they both PPG paints? They are incredibly similar colors.

You should try contacting Eric from Bumper Plugs. He is a member on this board but I don't remember his exact handle. If you search around you will find him. Or go to his website: www.BumperPlugs.com. I got the ingredients from him (or at least his post on 6Speed earlier this summer).
If you get any more info (or samples) please do share with me. I am also waiting for the MkII.

The only other photos I have in my collection not already on this thread are those from the "paint to sample" thread - there are several of a horizon blue cab with a linen interior at a dealer in the US a year or two ago. Just gorgeous.
I am not completely sure Porsche has not done fountain in the past, but you may be right. Bentley & Rolls Royce have done a PPG fountain, but I have been unsure if the Porsche formula is the same. I will try the web site you suggested.
I am hoping to go to Germany this winter and go to the Porsche exclusives center, where according to one Porsche literature I have, they have like a hundred leather samples. Anyone ever been there?

I've been to the exclusive center before. That's where I took those pictures of the Fountain Blue 997TT as pictured earlier in this thread. I didn't see those "hundreds" of leather samples there as you may have guessed. I did see all those leather samples in another building where they put together those leather pieces. Quite an amazing sight seeing all those different leather samples.
