Got a go in A6 allroad (vs touareg)
Today I had top pick up an A6 allroad, V6 TDI, auto.
Car was brand new with 6km on the clock, just like the touareg (same engine 3.0 V6 diesel) I had yesterday. So I can make a nice comparaison between the too. And the cayenne.
Anyway, back to the test drive: It's way better than the touareg. It handles more like the cayenne while the touareg feels like a boat.
Interior quality is even more impressive on the audi. Everything is perfect. I still don't like the sat nav/radio system. Like those in porsches, it's not fiendly enough.
Once you press the accelerator, the A6 goes a lot faster tan the touareg, even though it's the same V6 diesel. The audi was equipped with the air suspension. Works really well while the touareg's suspension give way too much body roll.
The automatic tranny doesn't work very well, on both the touareg and A6 allroad. Shifts are too slow, and you always have to wait a second to get the power down. It's really annoying. When you press the pedal, it should go immediatly. But it doesn't. You have to wait one second.
If you can't afford a cayenne and want a diesel, don't buy the touareg, get the allroad. It's a much better alternative to all these SUVs. I've never driven the Q7 (yet), so I can't tell you if it's any good. In a few days maybe.
@Porker, I took it at kortenberg, you've missed your joy ride. Just kidding because I can't take passengers.
I'm sure you will recognize the place on the pics.
