    Porschetreffen Interlaken - August 18, 2007

We went to the Porschetreffen in Interlaken yesterday and I though I should share a few photos. There were some very nice Porsche cars there, especially the ones from the early 70ies. We did arrive pretty late, since we decided to drive the scenery road over the Susten pass and since I had to stop and wait for my friend all the time... Captain Slow in the Carrera S. I suspect many cars had already left Interlaken once we got there.

    1. On the road between Altdorf and Wassen, where the Susten pass starts:

    Re: Porschetreffen Interlaken - August 18, 2007

That's a beautiful part of the world. I visied Kandersteg twice as a boy in the Scouts.

Did the Huttentest & D of E expedition etc. And drank lots & lots of beer...

Any shots of the Rubystone 964RS ?

    Where's the engine?

    Re: Porschetreffen Interlaken - August 18, 2007

    Wow bluelines,
Switzerland and porsches is always a good combo!
Kanderstegg, that is where that great scout centre is, isn't it? Beauftifull area.
Bluelines, any chance of more pics of the 550 spyder and the 993 GT2? PLEASE?!?

Stopped by myself as well, but didn't stay long. Prefer seing Porsche in motion (myself in one) than looking at them I guess.

    At the meeting?

    Re: Porschetreffen Interlaken - August 18, 2007

yes arrived, parked up, took a photo of my car next to the others around it, went walkabout, returned two hours later and someone had stolen the rear window button (attached to rear window wiper). I know it hadn't fallen off by itself as it is clearly visible in the picture I took on arrival. I know it may be (hopefully) relatively cheap to replace but who would do such a thing?

*nearly chokes on his gipfeli* Not how I remember it.. One day you might get good at the corners as well as the straight bits

    Re: Porschetreffen Interlaken - August 18, 2007

Got a couple of my own...

The 550 was (unsurprisingly) a replica - nice one though..
    Cheers,
    Dave

    Re: Porschetreffen Interlaken - August 18, 2007

The metallic blue car is not a GT2 either; it doesn't have the flared fenders. It's not an RS too though, because the front and rear spoilers are those of a GT2... :dunno:

    Re: Porschetreffen Interlaken - August 18, 2007

No, the dark blue one was not a GT2. I saw an RS that colour for sale a while back at Elite with some bits of GT2 bodywork. Could be that one..

    Re: Porschetreffen Interlaken - August 18, 2007

The White 911 w/ black wheels and looks to have RUF CTR bumpers in the upper left hand corner of the picturewith the cobalt blue GT2 looking 993 looks to be a mean loker! anyone have pictures of that machine!

    Re: Porschetreffen Interlaken - August 18, 2007

I never understood the logic of having a Porsche in a country like Switzerland.
There are policemen everywhere! and the traffic-laws enforcement is the highest the the harshest i've seen!

    nice pics tho.

I never understood the logic of having a Porsche in country like Israel. It' s full of pot holes, military checks everywhere, sand in each corner, no nice mountain roads.

    Re: Porschetreffen Interlaken - August 18, 2007

    Re: Porschetreffen Interlaken - August 18, 2007

Gnil, that's way we don't have many Porsches in Israel..
(i know several people who owns a Porsche in europe (usually in Germany\Belgium) because you can't really drive it here..)

and a bit more serious -
military checks?! in which Israel have you been?!
we do have some nice mountain roads, you just need to know them
and as long as the sand in each corner is on the side of the road and not on the road - i have no problem with it :P

no offence, but from my last visit in Switzerland, 2 things i will remember for life..
the R8 which roar just next (near Bahnhof street, Zurich) to me and the police-man who gave me a fine for less than 10km/h over the limit..
and from what i've heard and seen - there are policemen everywhere

Well, if the ideas is to show-off a pcar in Zurich or any other Swiss city's posh area on Sunday afternoon, I agree, there is a philosophical question about Porsche ownership in Switzerland. BUT, Gnil and I know of roads where you can floor it and have a lot of fun (it is called a mountain road) AND besides, we are only hour(s) away from either France, Italy and Germany which have their fair share of 'flooring opportunities' too.
Switzerland is a very Porsche friendly country. Normal purchase price, relatively low insurance, very limited risks to get your car damaged by some [beep] or the road itself, plenty of mountain roads

...I do not have anything else to add.
Spend a week touring the country and you will see by yourself.

I was in Israel, doing a road trip, about 10 years ago, a few days after the bombings in the Jerusalem market. Maybe that' s why there where police checks.
I also went to the Golan heights, more military checks.. and some more in Jerusalem.. But I had a great time. Loved the landscape and all the history
