    PASM --What do drivers think?

    Since I'm asking all sorts of questions, may anybody know if PASM is a beneficial feature? I've read varying reviews. And if beneficial, then is it worth the dough relative to other options? ...I suppose I'll define "beneficial" as regards performance, fun and safety.

    Take loooong test-drives in both. It's the only way to tell what's best for you.

    PASM is a must woth 19s, not so with 18s.

    If you plan to do track days then you might be better with 18s and std suspension oif your tracks are bumpy. even pasm and 19s can't cope with bumps in the braking zones like the stock car can.

    I've had two Boxsters, both on 19" wheels with PASM. If I was to have another one I'd order the same again without hesitation. Enough said.

    Long test-drive is the best advise of course
    IMO PASM offers both, more comfort and less body roll at the same time. I can recommend it, but it's an individual choice of course. The car with the stock suspension may be more predictable at the limit, but I found that I can go faster through the corners with a PASM car. Regarding track use: on a smooth surface PASM in sports mode is great, on a more rough track (like Nordschleife) I prefer to drive in normal mode + SC on. Never drove a Boxster with stock suspension on a track, so I can't compare. For now and then amateur racing PASM is absolutely fine, if you want to take it seriously IMO you need another suspension anyway (maybe even another car ).

    I have it and have 19s. IMO there are a few ways to better allocate $2,000 on the Porsche options list. While I realize that PASM actively switches among "programs" both in normal and sport mode, the times I consciously switch to PASM Sport are few and far between, and while a difference is noticeable I don't know if it is easily quantified as markedly better performance.

    I have 18s and PASM. For me the ride on 19s was just a little too hard, I love the look of the 19s, but 18s and PASM was just the best setup for me and seemed to offer the widest range of comfort to sporty. It really is just a personal thing though, wtsnet is absolutely correct, comparing both on a nice drive is the way to go.

    Take your boxster above about 130 mph and you will really notice the difference with PASM , the car becomes more planted and feels much tighter in steering response. If you are not running on 19" wheels or live in an area with perfect roads and no plans to go on track , then you probably wont see the benefit of PASM. Of course if you get PASM with the sportchrono packet plus you also get a sharper throttle response too. I have both functions but rarely use the PASM in sport mode on UK roads as the surface is so poor. I am thankful for having it though as I have the optional 19" sport techno alloys.

    I had a 2006 Boxster S with PASM and 19" wheels. I thought it was incredible. Non-PASM cars seem to feel set between the Normal and Sport Mode of PASM cars. I find non-PASM cars to feel and handle superbly. It's just that PASM turns up the driving experience a notch in both Normal and Sport mode.
