There is an article on the 997S in the latest issue giving a first impression. It says that Walter Röhrl did the Nordschleife at Nürburgring ... 20 Sec. faster compared to a ride in a basic 996 ?!?! It was not clear what suspension was used ... PASM or -20mm ??? But he didn't ride the car really hard to it's limit when doing that lap ... he was qouted.
Greetz
Have you ever known Walter Röhrl to acknowledge that was the best he can do in a Porsche?
It's very simple, one of MASTERS in history of piloting: Mr. Rhörl (just take a look to his "Curriculum Vitae"....I still wonder how he managed to beat Stig Blomsqvist and his Audi Quattro.....a very, very clever man), with the best "basic" Carrera ever(of course, the 997S).
I'd love to see the laptimes (even driven my beloved Shummi against Mr. Walter) with a 360 in Nordschleife (as I have said in other posts: almost any imaginable condition). You have to be very, very good under a very competitive "machine" to do such lap times as the Master Rhörl does
