    It looks like Ocean Blue, like my 996, but the light may be tricky on photos, so I can never be sure.

    east london opc will have around 40 997's before christmas time. we are number 20.

    apparantly the salesman was offered a Pounds5k bung to bump someone up the line!

    i am getting very excited!

    I know exactly what you mean.

    The "rib" pattern seen through a layer of clear plastic looks very much like carbon fiber under a glossy gel coat.

    I guess you'll have to wait till you see it "in the flesh" before you believe me!

    It'll be available as a Tequipment accessory, I guess, not a 997-specific option.

    But you'll have to supply your own baby!

    That just means that the 19" wheels which are standard on the "S" will be available as an option on the Carrera.

    Those chrome nipples (headlight washer nozzles) look like a terrible last-minute tack-on. And the paint-match between the front metal and the plastic bumper cover reminds me of Ocean Blue on the Boxster -- somehow, auto-makers haven't figured out how to paint plastic and metal to match ... grumble ... hopefully basic black will be a better match ...

    Hi guys,

    Just had to revisit this post to find out the exact name of the blue I want. I'm trying to place an order for a 997 in Ocean blue, but the dealer says he is aware of only two blue colors, Midnight Blue and Lapis blue. Is Ocean blue and Midnight blue the same color (just under a different name in different markets)???

    Ok, tried to figure it out...guess there is a difference between the Ocean blue and Midnight blue. Does anyone have the color code for Ocean blue???
