    R8 vs. 9974s - AutoZeitung

    The latest issue of AutoZeitung contains another test of the new R8.

    Here are some key results (R8 / 9974s):

    0-100: 4.5s / 4.8s
    0-200: 15.2s / 16.9s
    100-0: 33.0 / 33.9
    Top speed: 301 / 288
    Lap time: 1:39.9 / 1:43.5 (!!!)

    Consequently, the R8 wins the competition.

    Honestly, this result does speak a very clear language. Porsche has a major problem.

    Not really IMHO.

    R8 is dynamicly brilliant car and new Zero the Hero( ) tires are better then Michelin PS2s... Also there is no supriese that R8 is faster then 997C4S. R8 performance are good and its Hockenheim and Ring times will be interesting...

    BTW, you forget to mentioned that AM V8 Vantage was also in that comparsion test but, results were rather bad...

    Well, at least the R8 has a 65 hp advantage over the 997 4S, hasn't it? I assume they've tested the standard version with 355hp and not the X51 power pack.

    Still I dont know why they dont put in the test, the 997 carrera S X51, lets see how it goes vs the R8, and even more cheaper

    Alex trust me Carrera S X51 would slightly better performance than R8

    I finally got to see the R8 looks much better in person and it sounds very nice. It was sliver on Black. It maybe a faster car than the C2S or C4S but I would still go with the P-Car.

    i would go for the r8, even if it has the same perf than the porsche , it has more exclusvity

    The 997 C4S is a daily/all year car, with back seats. The R8 is not. So even if the R8 is faster, when deciding to choose between the two, the 997 lots of advantages.

    Next week I will be trying the R8... looking forward to it !!!

    gnil, the r8 is a daily driver as much as the 997. the back seats are there in the 997,but can anybody fit in them?

    My children can fit in them As I take my children most days to kindergarten, not having them would be a problem.

    Still, I can' t see myself drive to a ski resort in winter in an R8. No problem with the C4S or TT.
    I also buy groceries with the C4S... I would not be able to do that in the R8.

    The R8 is definitely on my potential next car list, as I like the car and always had good experiences with Audi, but I can not , for the moment anyway, consider it as a real daily driver.

    Today i ve checked a silver Targa 4S and i think it is the best looking 997 car especially when silver combined with black glass roof.... Much much better loooking than Carrera 4S imo

    I also like the Targa 4S! I'd choose either standard S or Targa 4S!
