    Servicing costs for a 97 993 w/ 50K miles

    I'm contemplating the purchase of a life-long dream, a 911. 30 years ago I had pictures of the 911, 924, 944 and 928 on my wall as a school child. I'm excited beyond belief, but there's a rational piece nagging at the back of my mind. Servicing costs.

    I have no idea what that annual costs will be: oil changes, tires, etc. Can anyone give any kind of idea? I need to factor this in to total cost of ownership beyond acquisition, insurance, etc. I'd really appreoiate it. Will help sell the idea into my wife : )

    Wrong board, but 993's are very expensive to maintain, PPI is key.

    Do't do it on a tight budget. Any repair will be expensive. On an old car, they will happen. Standard maintenance is not bad for a sports car though.

    Rennlist is a pretty good source for info on the 993. I remember someone saying that a top end job on the 993TT was $12k and up, so as said above, not for a tight budget.
