The Ultimate question "Is PDCC really worth it ?"

I have read countless post on here regarding the PDCC and many had different opnion abt it. Sone say tht it is only worth getting it if u take it on the track and some say it even helps in inner city driving. So the question is where is PDCC most effective at and is it Vital to have this Option on the Cayenne S. Since i am speccing the Cayenne and have to choose between Sports exhaust system or the PDCC.

Re: The Ultimate question "Is PDCC really worth it ?"

I am also stuck with getting PDCC or not on my upcoming CT.

Recently I am paying more attention when I drive my CS (with steel suspension) during cornering. I found that the sway of the truck is very significant compared to my 997S. The passengers felt more of it than the driver as the driver is anticipating the corners and may sway his body to compensate. Of course when PDCC is not available, we just live with it and don't think about it.

I would also like to hear more about PDCC from current owners rather than reading from car magazines.

Re: The Ultimate question "Is PDCC really worth it ?"

I am too also in a similar dilemma. Since i currently own a Touareg V6 with air suspension and even inspite in sports mode i still feel body roll when cornering at hight speeds. Since i recentley test drove the New Cayenne S with air suspension but no PDCC and it felt reasonably flat compared to my Touareg but wasnt able to drive to its full potential. So just wondering whether the PDCC is a worthy investment and if it is then bye bye PSE

Re: The Ultimate question "Is PDCC really worth it ?"

I dont know if this will help you.

The PDCC system is powered by an auxilary pump that is run off of the engine. It slightly robs power and mpg. Being a 1st Generation system it may also have issues.

More complexity, more repair time, costs etc..

Is PDCC really worth what $$$ they are asking for it now? I dont think so - yet.

Re: The Ultimate question "Is PDCC really worth it ?"

since u put tht into the context. The porsche dealer over here only provide 2 years warranty and the third year at a price of 1360 dollars.
If thts the case then PDCC is not worth it. I guess

    Hi!

If I had to decide between these two options :

    Go for PSE

Hey Gregor I am still waiting for some more PSE videos.

Re: The Ultimate question "Is PDCC really worth it

The PDCC has one additional benefit unrelated to handling pleasure : the active roll bars may help to mitigate potential roll-over , too, if you or your loved one ever get to that dangerous edge in an unforseen split -second emergency swerving maneuver.BMW even advertises it's similar active roll bars in their sport versions as an integral part of their anti rollover system on the new X5.

Re: The Ultimate question "Is PDCC really worth it

I have driven both PDDC and sport exhaust on a new Cayenne S, and choosing between either one is tough

In the end I would choose the PDDC, because the way I drive I would make use of its handling improvement, and also for the confort. But also for the safety aspect that MKW points out.

Re: The Ultimate question "Is PDCC really worth it

I don't know about PDCC but I have a Cayenne S with PASM.

I believe PASM is very interesting and useful. I normally leave it in "normal" mode but when I'm cruising on the highway I select "Confort" which makes the ride really smooth. On the other hand when driving on twisty roads I select "Sport" even if I'm not driving in a spirited manner.

Clearly by selecting "Sport" mode, roll-over is seriously reduced which makes the ride much more "confortable" for kids in the rear and the passenger in the front.

For example I went to the French Alps last week and I was very happy to have this option.

This being said, is PASM a must have? NO, is it a real plus YES.

Re: The Ultimate question "Is PDCC really worth it

now imgaine PASM and PDCC together

You can order PASM w/o PDCC , but not the opposite .

Re: The Ultimate question "Is PDCC really worth it ?"

Thnx for the input Guys Like Carlos mentioned its a very tough choice between PSE and PDCC. Since i can choose only 1, bc both are very expensive options. Since my driving style is normally spirited. So just wondering will only PASM be sufficient. The standard Cayenne S exhaust is like a muted Growl. PSE wld defo give tht extra roar and again i really appreciate PDCC for its handling . Dam it I am really confused.

Carlos any suggestion since u have driven with both these options ??

Re: The Ultimate question "Is PDCC really worth it ?"

I would take the PDCC, I have a very very spirited driving style (wether I'n pushing a shopping troley of driving a truck, its my nature I can't help it) so for handling, confort and safety reasons, I would choose the PDCC.

The PSE for the Cayenne is absoluetly fantastic, I loved the way it made the V8 sound... powerfull, with a presence, but not too loud like you would find on a sportcar.

But all in all personnally I would go for the PDCC, besides, you can always add the PSE later on, but I doubt you can retrofit the PDCC.

Re: The Ultimate question "Is PDCC really worth it ?"

thnx for the suggestion Carlos. At the moment i am leaning more towards PSE. Since the roads in Dubai are fairely straight and nearly all roundabouts are being replaced with junctions. Its more highway driving rather then twisties (if any to be frank). But atleast I found out the positive and negative points of the PDCC. Thnx to u all again.

Re: The Ultimate question "Is PDCC really worth it

I have driven both (CTT) and when I replace my current CTT with a new one it will have the PDCC. I think it is a must have option

It makes the car very flat, helps in off roading, my current car has the detachable sway bars.

The only negative is it instills a sense of confidence that may encourage more speed than is wise on some of the twisties. I can forsee the socccer moms now saying ".......and I wasn't going that fast"
