    GT3 -- In the driver's seat

    Today I finally got to see and sit in a GT3 and all my lingering doubts about trading in my comfortable C2 for this streetable racecar vanished. I was pleased that the clutch pedal was not noticably harder to push than that of my C2 (the 996 GT3 clutch seemed considerably harder), the adaptable sports seats were very comfortable and supportive, and the shift action did not seem so stiff and notchy as some have reported on this site. The GT3 (in white) looked totally cool in person -- inside and out -- from every angle. The real deal.

    I too think the GT3 in person is the real deal. Gonna wait and see if I can pick one up if not I'll get a Cab.

    also saw one in real yesterday, looks awesome seeing it in person! Even better than all the pictures I saw.. GT3 RULES

    Can't agree more with this post. GT3 is THE car.
    Top of the food chain of normally aspirated engine 911s (and beyond!!!)...

    Siting in and driving are two different things..

    You can drive the C2 pretty much everywhere.
    The GT3 there are someplaces on the street that are impossible to navigate.

    I may modify the front spoiler for street use (that is, take it up an inch or so) and buy a second spoiler for show or in the unlikely event I can find a road in Hawaii to drive on faster than about 80 mph!

    Sitting in a car to determine if its the right one? Come on, the shifter and clutch feel different when the car is moving. You need to test drive one, then you'll sell your soul for one!

    As far as just sitting in the car, I also sat in a 996 GT3 and, even without the motor running, the clutch spring was noticably stiffer than that of a regular 996. My point was, the clutch pedal in the 997 GT3 at rest feels almost identical to that of the regular 997. Again, that was not my experience with the 996 variants.

    Nonetheless, your point is well taken. Driving the car is the real test ....
