Beautiful car. But after 4 hours of driving a black car with no dust or dirt on the car & "same mirror finish" of a freshly detailed one? Come on. I've kept many black cars and have never been able to accomplish that. Please tell your secret.

His grand mother took it around the block at 5km/h and it took her 4 hours to go pick up some bread at her bakery shop, 10 km away from home. So 20 km in total (he made a mistake and added a 0)

Car looks great but I have to admit I took my solid black out the other night straight after detailing it, 5 mins and it was covered in dust etc. From a distance it still looked fantastic but up close you would hardely beleive the crap on it!

We agreed that we do not use the word flat black when describing standard Porsche black paint.
But just in case you forgot, flat black has no shine or reflection. Flat black is used by NASA, by the military, and hot rodders in So California. Porsche paints their cars black. Black has shine to it. Black Porsches will reflect brilliantly when clean and no swirls. Black Porsches will also show abuse from owners who do not know how to properly clean their cars.

My secret of keeping a black car looking good is good preparation. Make sure the surface is always as smooth and slick as possible.
I collected my car without allowing the dealer to detail it ( Click me)
I carefully removed the factory protection and washed the car with lots of water and good car shampoo. The glue marks (from the protection foil) I removed with a good degreaser.
When washing I use the 2 bucket system. Drying is done with a special drying towel to again make sure I do not create swirls.
Next step is installing the clear bra. (outsourced but done at my place)
After a few days curing the final and most important step is waxing. This is very very important to have a black car still look great after a few days driving. I use a German wax brand but there are many good ones.
Just make sure your car is so slippery dust has a hard time sticking to the paint.
Drove the car now for a total of 600 km without touching and has been parked outside at customers , suppliers and friends. I still do not need to clean it and although I have a little dust and bugs on the car it still looks clean.
When the car gets older and I eventually will get some swirls I will polish them out and after that will seal the paint again with a good wax.
Here 2 pictures I took a few minutes ago (again, no cleaning since the first pictures where taken)

As time goes by....I remember when we talked about your TT order last October. Do you still have the 996 4S ?
Enjoy the beast and be aware of the speed cameras (just follow the nice roads we enjoyed last October - no single speed camera due to a perfect selection of roads )
