    What about the Basalt Metallic Black?? Does anybody know the price of the standard 997 Carrera in the US without options?

    Technical question: do you think the US navigation system will also work in Europe with the appropriate disc?

    I spoke with my local dealer, Newport Auto Center in Newport Beach, CA yesterday and they had just received brochures for the 997. They mailed me one yesterday, so I should have it today. Long ago I had mentioned to my salesman that I would probably be interested in a 997 cab. Apparently he added my name to the "reservation" list since I am #8 overall and #4 for a cab. He said my position would allow me to receive a cab in the first month they are available which he was told would be February 2005. He also mentioned that the majority of those on the list want the S version. I forgot to ask him how many total were on the list. They are a very high volume dealer.

    MSRP in the US for the Carrera is $69,300, and $79,100 for the Carrera S.

    My current Porsche is guards red and the lack of guards red (even as paint to sample) is the reason I didn't buy a Cayenne.

    Did anyone else notice the difference between the specs on Porsche's web page for the 0-60 times of the 997 and the specs in the 997 brochure? Does anyone know which are the more accurate numbers?

    Anyone know of any improvements to the version of PCCB going into the 997?
