    Nothing good comes from road racing.

    Here is a professional golfer beginning by all accounts a successful career, who now may find his life and career destroyed. While racing another car, the other driver lost control and was killed. Very sad. Just plain stupid!

    100 mph is considered high speed?
    Anybody know whether the suburban road was in fact in an urban area or in the open?

    Nothing good comes from road racing on the STREET! I am a strong advocate for keeping it on the track. Also, I am sure neither has had any formal training by certified instructors.

    For some reason people buy these BIG FAT sedans with TONS of power that weight over 4000lbs and expect them to handle and brake like a Ferrari. It's not going to happen. You can't get around the law's of physics.

    You mean street racing, not road racing. I agree though. Driving fast by yourself is one thing, but racing on public roads is just insane.

    If they really did do it on a narrow suburban road, with houses on both sides, they were lucky they didn't kill anybody else.

    In the distant past I have.For many years now I avoid engaging with other cars. There are times in certain reasonably safe areas I exercise the car.

    BTW, just yesterday a Mustang GT with modded exhaust and suspect other mods tried to engage me on a highway. The driver with his wife/girlfriend kept coming along side of me (I was in my 430) gunning the engine. I had no doubt I would destroy him yet refused to race. I gave him a smirk with the look (you have to be kidding) and ignored him.

    There was another time a 2006 Z06 pulled alongside clearly wanting to race. What I did was motion with both hands that our cars were relatively equal (I did this by using my index finger on both hands showing forward motion with neither finger getting ahead of the other) and turning them upward indicating nothing to be gained.

    I was just curious that was all. Seems like an honest enough answer to me. I had a Bike egging me on tonight on the motorway in rush hour! Didn't bite either....well not for at least 100 yards. Just kidding.

    You did the right thing. Imagine crashing into another vehicle and then having a lawsuit filed against you for hurting somebody .
