Your salesman pulled your plonker - big time.

    Re: Check my post elsewhere

Hey guys the good thing about frequent facelifts is everybody's in the same boat, you buy the car and in no time it's "outdated."

People won't look at, pre-owned Porsches with "Oh, that's the OLD model" anymore because every one or two years they will change anyway.

    No big deal.

It'll definitely be easier to buy a new one because waiting is less worthwhile.

Easier to sell one because if each year has it's changes, it's hard for anybody to keep track anymore.

my guess would be MY08 3 years after 997 launch just as with the 996..porsche are so systematic with these things

No, I don't have any insider info. Just the same dealer scuttlebutt as the rest of us. Seeing pics of the mules on the road is encouraging that they might come this fall. Here's to a pleasant surprise

Re: Latest Road And Track - facelift due in late 0

I said it all along... facelift cars will be in US showrooms this Fall.

Re: Latest Road And Track - facelift due in late 0

So if the 997 Mk II is a 2008 model, that should continue for 2009 and 2010, based on prior models. That would mean 998 for 2011, which would be released sometime in 2010. My 997 lease will be over in November 2009. Crap, that means I'm going to have to short-term lease a 2010 Mk II for a couple years to get the 2012 998 (I never get the first year), which means I'm going to be incredibly jealous of all those 998s I see on the road for a year. Maybe I'll just get the Turbo. Then I won't have to be jealous.

I wonder when we'll start taking bets on the HP of the 998.

Re: PCA Club magazine PANORAMA reports......

Your dealer is clueless. They have this unerring ability to speak BS with such confidence

The external changes will appear on the MY09 cars. If they happen to slip in DFI on the MY08 cars is TBD. The cosmetic stuff will arrive when the Panamera is released to keep 911 sales up.

Re: Latest Road And Track - facelift due in late 0

Porsche certainly is not showing their hand. There are a bunch of threads similar to this one with no substantial evidence for a fall 2007 release (2008 model) or 2008 release (2009 model). The biggest support for a fall 2007 release is that there is video of the new car on the ring with plenty of spy photos around. Plus an update this year would be consistent with the 996 run update. I'm just waiting for an official announcement.
