Actually EVO compared the Veyron to other supercars like Carrera GT, Murci and Pagani, and they were amazed with final result. Even on the track the Veyron smoked them all. The EVO guys wouldn't bet a pen in the Veyron on circuit, they were totally bummed with final result from Veyron.
This car is something really special indeed, it's good to know such beast on four wheels exist.

Yeah but they did say that it lacks soul...there's no drama at all which is the essence of a true sports car...it's unbelievable fast though...first time I see a bike being that hopeless against a car!!! unbelievable!!!

If possible can you or someone please post the lap times or the article?
Would be very interesting, amazing that the car can compete with the best on the track at
over 1800kg! Imagine a light-weight version.
I'm sure if you took away 400kg it would give the car the feeling of having more
"Soul and drama". I remember all the negative comments from many when the veyron was released,
but it has proved itself and shows the you can have incredible performance
with refinement, all in one!
No other car has achieved this like the Bugatti has.

To drop 400 kg you'd have lose the engine and transmission.
Don't know how much "soul and drama" that would leave you with, though.

EVO magazine is manely focus on the wild side of cars, they like them fast, light and with lots of power. Before the test the Veyron didn't fit their requirments, they were expecting to have a rocket on wheels but with lazy handling and bored to drive on circuit. Well, after the test, they've lost more pages raving about the amazing handling, feel and general performance of Veyron , than all the others together.
They state it was indded big surprise to see Veyron being faster, safer and much easier to take it to the limits than all others.
