After 3000Km with the GT3...
I'm sorry if I don't have too much time to describe how I feel about my new car and obviously (and most importantly) how it drives! Next week I'll move to London and I still have so many things to do...
Anyway, as some of you knows, the past weekend I was at the Nürburgring Nordschleife to finally test drive the GT3 in the best place where it can be done.
The big improvement of the 997 GT3, compared to the 996 GT3 Mk2 that I formerly owned, is, without any doubt, the chassis. The front, now, feels a lot more stable and heavier then the previous model, and the Pasm works really well combined with the stiffer chassis. On the Nordschleife I drove with the Pasm in the normal position and I think it's the best choice because the Sport mode it's really hard and make the car too nervous and umpredictable on bumpy roads. As they said in the presentation, it's good only in very flat racing tracks.
You can recognise that the soul of the engine it's still the same after the first bunch of kilometers. There is more power, and you can feel that, but the difference is almost the same that I found between the 996 GT3 Mk1 and Mk2, even if in this change we have 15 additionals Hp.
I found useless the Sport Button in the center console...the TC is still too invasive and the gain in term of torque and power is not really noticeable. In my opinion it would have been better to have the engine always in the "Sport" mode, without useless buttons.
I didn't try the TC because switch it off it's the first thing I do when I sit in the car!
P.s. I immediatly changed the Pilot Sport Cup that cames standard with the car with Bridgestone RE050A...the Michelin's are perfect for the summer time! I don't trail my car, I drive to the racing tracks and I want to be there save and safe if it rains!!
Hope that my description make sense!
Will post pictures later, now enjoy only this one I found on the net from the Ring!
