revised 997: What should we (realistically) expect to see?
just wanted to create a thread of what upgrades people expect to see on the 997 mid-model cycle revision based on what we've learned from history (ie. mid-996 revisions), spy photos, and other sources.
I assume that it will be a MK2008 and the 998 will arrive as a MK2011.
--HORESEPOWER BUMP.
(996 went from 296HP to 300HP to 320HP i believe)
i would guess 380HP for 997s and 355 for 997 (if it's retained).
Also, the 380/355 were the original HP figures i heard rumored before the official 997 release.
Who would've guessed that the new model would have virtually the same HP (in 997 form) as the outgoing and with so many cars in the 350HP range that cost much less than 997 it seems inevitable to see a bump.
-FRONT and BACK BUMPER MODIFICATIONS.
we've seen some great spy photos on this forum of what i expect will be the 997 revision -- based on what we've seen I'm guessing a revised/more aggressive looking front bumper, LED turn signals in front, fog light integration, LED brake lights/rear lights, revised rear bumper shape, etc.
Also, active headlights I would guess could be an option.
-SUSPENSION UPGRADES.
I assume that there will be minor tweaks as i believe there were tweaks for the 996 mid-life revision.
--INTERIOR MODIFICATIONS
I would guess that there would be bluetooth, satellite radio, Ipod integration, etc. Also I would guess that perhaps there will be a new color or two or midly revised plastics, etc. But this could very well not be the case. the interior looks great to so many "so why fix it if it ain't broke!"
--PDK
I'm sure this will arrive eventually as in MK2008. Weather it will be available on the 997TT first, I don't know. but it'll trickle down.
--9974S
I would guess this model/iternation would receive the Turbo's AWD system too.
These are just my guesses. I'm sure there will be a new color or two, perhaps a slightly different stereo, new packages, etc. But would love to hear from others as well and know that a lot of this information has already been posted on this great forum so i'm just trying to cull it all together and it wouldn't have been made possible with all of your contributions. thank you.
