    Dang. As I recall, they made 200 993TTS's for the North American market for 1998. I'm still temtped to buy a used one, if I could find one in good shape, and I know there are mod. packages available in the USA for easy power up to 600 peak HP....

    First (and current) 930 at 38. Lovin' it for 17 years, but gettin' a new one Sept. at 55. That should last until I'm 72!!!

    It seems the 997tt guys are younger than the standard 997 owners...
    About 4 years until i can afford to upgrade, that would make me 27.
    Or maybe i see a loan in my near future

    First Porsche was 356B S at 23.First turbo was 930 when I was 38. 930 Slantnose cab at 39. 993tt at 47. 996tts cab at 55. June production 997tt at 56. Wow, gettin' old!

    I doubt it. I think this poll is skewed by some awfully young members lying on the distribution's left tail. I would bet the average TT buyer is 50 years young, and the distribution has a fairly small variance.

    A better question might be; how old were YOU when YOU bought your first TT, not when Mommy bought you a car. Mine will be at 44('07 997TT) when I reward myself for alot of hard work and providing well for my family. Priorities.

    He might be a fabulous surgeon..but he wouldn't make a great babysitter I can say that at 45..cheers One more month to go and the wait is over. I spoke to the sales manager at the grand opening of our dealership yesterday. He went to Spain for the dealer presentation and said the 997tt is out of this world. He drove it at 280 and said it drove better than he imagined.He said it was incredibly fast and that the company claims are as usual quite conservative.

    It's funny how I remember seeing a 911SC at the age of 18 and thought someday I am going to have one..like that. The best thing about being older and finally getting a new one... well it is very humbling. Lucky boys are we...very lucky even for the guys that spell it "work"...Throt thanks for the thumbs up.

    I don't see why you guys are bringing up who is paying for the car, its a poll of turbo drivers.
    Don't get me wrong, i work hard to finance my 997 and can't realistically afford a 997tt right now.
    I bet their are some 30-40-50 year old guys who bought a 997 with inheritance dosh, but I don't see anyone taking a poke at them .
    What matters is how much you appreciate what you got, not how you got it.

    In many ways, being able to buy one in your 30's now is far more of an accomplishment than the 40-50 somethings who are buying them now. It's more difficult to get good jobs earlier in life to be in a position to buy this car, not to mention the ease of building wealth in the markets of the 80's/90's. Those of us in our early 30's missed out on much of that.
