Although it was a horrific tregedy and I feel for all those who mourn their losses, the cause of the crash was not Ben's driving, or the Carrera GT's high speed stability, it was that @sshole who let the Ferrari out of the pits at the end of the straight. If she sues anyone it should be him. To sue the widow of Ben? Thats outragous. Like that poor woman doesn't have enough to deal with taking care of the family he left behind. This makes me sick.

Shouldn't anyone choosing to drive on a track/public road in litigious US be fully prepared (financially, legally, etc) for inevitable litigation vs the most affluent party (not necessarily one at fault) involved in any accident???? 
IMO, litig risk is a simple and obvious element of the risk/reward decision of driving/offering rides that any affluent driver in US should consider and accept/decline.....know a few smart, risk-averse, but sportscar-addicted, guys who've opted for S-Class and driver for daily commuting/eve activities to precisely manage this well-known litig risk vs affluent in US.....

Guys this is how it works.
Both driver and passenger have large life insurance policies. I'm willing to bet that the passenger's insurance company - especially if it is a big policy which it probably is - doesn't want to pay out. Insurance companies never want to pay out or will try anything they can to limit their loss. That's why the passenger's "widow"/her insurance company is suing anyone and everyone to minimize their loss. It has nothing to do with her laying blame on anyone, but it has everything to do with the insurance companies laying blame b/c they don't want to pay.
Insurance companies or lawyers, don't know who is the bigger pig.
Give the families a break.

It doesn't change the fact that they are trying to make Ben's widow a victim once more. If YOUR insurance does not want to pay, take it up with YOUR insurance, don't sue Ben's widow. She has no fault, an neither does Ben's little daughter's patrimony.
One thing is to try to put the blaim on "a company" or "a track" (for something that is not their fault BTW) to try to scavenge some money, but also suing Ben's widow to "cover your looses" is simply despicable. No empathy from me either. What a sick world this is.

Yeah he was trying to do that, but I don't think that puts his comments in a better light. Keaton may not have been at fault, but neither was Porsche. . .

Sorry, guys. Had to delete a few claims and statements for the good of us all, incl. the families. Please understand why I had to do this, this is no censorship, just a protective measure to assure that we don't get involved in something nasty. I recommend to stop this discussion until the lawsuit is over.
