    Interesting Video .. 69bossnine - You'll appreciate it!

    Just saw this on a Ford Lightning board..

    So when you next get raced by a truck, this is why they think they are better than you!

    A bit OT (its a 996 not a 997) but it made me smirk..

    The in car footage is from a Ford Lightning (I have one to carry big things that don't fit my 997) driven by someone mad.

    In all fairness the Porsche driver was a bit crap ......
    His lines throught the corners were shabby to say the least.
    The lightening driver was giving it a bit ...

    Taffy beat me to it, the P-Car driver needs some instruction - he almost lost it completely on the corner before the truck caught up.

    But the truck driver was doing a great job - the engine must have quite good low end grunt by the sound of it. Also suspension (leaf springs or no) can't have been that bad - looked pretty level all the way round.

    Yes, the 996 driver was pretty ugly, but conversely, Lightnings handle amazingly well for their heft. Low end grunt??? Like a freight train!!!

    My $600 worth of bolt-on mods had my Lightning running low-13's in the 1/4 mile. $4-5K in mods on a Lightning puts it solidly into the low-12's, and I know a fella with a high-10-second Lightning that he daily-drives. Lotta potential in those big pigs!!! And you never really know how much modifications one has had. You could pull up to a stoplight in your spanking new GT3, and next thing you know, a Ford truck shows you its taillights LOL!!! (Yes, I know, on a road course it would be different...)

    (they've got great brakes too, as you can obviously see...)
