    In court today.

Had to appear at court today in connection with my speeding offence in February see here
    http://www.rennteam.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=997&Number=200986&page=15&fpart=1

I was very apologetic but I still got banned for 6 weeks with a Pounds200 fine + Pounds35 costs. The judge said that as I needed my car for work (I'm a property developer) I would be given a 1/2 sentence.

6 weeks without the Black Bullet is gonna be tough!!

P.S. Thanks to all those who gave me advice and help!

    Re: In court today.

Glad the judge wasn't too harsh mate.

With the Bowyer case recently I think you did pretty well: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/tyne/4923108.stm

Just spend the next 6 weeks working a few layers of wax into your baby...

    Re: In court today.

    My sincerest condolences.

    Re: In court today.

6 weeks will go by real quick!

    Re: In court today.

.....when well lubricated with strong whisky.....

    Re: In court today.

Good luck passing time with that sentence. They just don't understand...

They have 6 months to get you in court. You are home free mate

    Re: In court today.

A good result and 6 weeks is not too bad as you can go on holiday

As I said in the thread you would get a 4 - 8 week ban I do believe I was right again.

God it is hard being me

    Re: In court today.

BTW Neil Kinnock got a 6 month ban yesterday for speeding on the M4.

I sympathise - I thought I was wrong once but I later found out that I was mistaken.

What speed and how many points did he have previous?

6 months is for totting up.

    Re: In court today.

Boxsterboy - Hope all the bad luck for the year has gone now and the six weeks fly by.

JJ - did you make anything on the spread you offered? if so I'll pester you for a cuppa at the Cat n Fiddle when I'm next there.
There can't be that many Blades around can there!!!!!!

    Re: In court today.

Funnily enough no one wanted to take up my kind invitation to make some money

It has been ages since I went up onto the Cat and Fiddle. I have squeezed in a couple of trackdays though which are awesome fun if not a little scary (I nearly high sided at Dono the other week after pushing my luck coming out of a corner with a little too much enthusiasm)

    Kinnock gets driving ban...

Here's the link. Can this m*ron do anything at all right?

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/4947284.stm

I will never ever forget how he was filmed on the beach walking with his wife and getting knocked over by the waves and nearly getting dragged into the sea as the waves receded. What an absolute pl*nker...

And to think, he thought we would trust him with running the country!

    Re: In court today.

I got 4 month plus 2.5% of my annual taxable income for doing 135 km/h instead of 80 km/h - but this is Switzerland... aehm and 2 years probation period

    Re: Kinnock gets driving ban...

So he was banned under totting up and not for one incident of speeding on a motorway as I thought.

To be fair he has had one lucky escape as the totting up is supposed to give you a 12 month ban (advisory) but knowing that some loony leftie magistrate probably sympathised with him he will have got off lightly.

He was always a tosser anyway so like you say who cares?

    Re: Kinnock gets driving ban...

That isnt too bad mate. If your a property developer/builder you will have to get one of your lads to drive you about for 6 weeks.

    Re: In court today.

anyway guys ! if you ban from drving can i still go for trackday!?

    Re: In court today.

Yep no problem as lomg as you still have a licence to show them. Sometimes they ask for it sometimes they don't.

    Re: In court today.

A driving ban in the UK means you are banned only from public roads. You can drive on private roads with the owners permission (not needed if you happen to be the owner of that land though!).

That's the problem: the company that owns the track/runs the track day may want to see that you have a valid licence - which you won't if you have a ban. Catch 22.
