I thought quite a lot about the 997 but at the end of the day the 996 made a lot more sense (I was originally comparing the GT3 against the 997S, but after test driving I was sold on a GT3. Red absolutley get's punted for 6 in AUS.
Awesome value, but they can be extremely difficult to move!!
I am looking at getting a silver GT3 2004 with 20 KM's for $180K and there is a red one for sale at the moment for $155K with 15 KM's.
I actually like the red, but would buy one as they can be difficult to get out of in the future.

I wish that I didn't have to consider colours either but unfortunately when cars cost so much in our country and residuals being so weak it is something worth considering if you want to change cars every 2 years.
EG - A 996 GT3 was $265,000 on the road in Melbourne which is $199,000 USD or $105,500 GBP.
Now considering a GT3 in US was $100,000. We have to pay exactly double that Americans do.

In Melbourne you pay the double.
In BRAZIL the GT3 (base model) will cost about U$300.000, (US DOLLARS).
It's a [censored] shame. I paid in a F360SPIDER in 03 U$430.000. My brohter bought a 987S paid U$160.000. A 997S costs U$220.000,
Brazil it's a shame how much we need to pay in TAX.

No; as I noted above, the wheels and script were put on by the dealer, as well as the RUF tail and exhaust. Otherwise a standard GT3, as much as that is 'standard'.
Mostly used as a daily driver, with some out of town trips such as into the BC interior and down to San Francisco. Also a bit of track use.
I see no reason to trade it for the new GT3 at this time, since the car still has a lot to teach me. There is always something faster and newer out there, but there isn't really any more fun to be had.
