Gnil:Whoopsy:But I have to admit, the 918 gets the girls, they ASKED for it, the RS doesn't have that kind of an authority.
That is hot !
Beautiful women are always hard work. Your 918 would not be the same without these annoying , time consuming whims !
Hey... did you realize those two guys in the doors. Do they check the beast or the beast? I mean already the 918 has extended it's wing

Why are you even focusing on the car?
Mikla:Some journalists have test driven the new Carrera and they say it sounds like a NA flat 6....
They must be deaf (or have no clue about the NA flat 6 sound).

Last night I watched a TV program on the making of the Alfa 4C, Alfa Romeo was trumpeting the fact that they went light weight on the 4C and the 1.7L engine weights 134kg.
I knew I remember that number form somewhere and, DA DA!! The 918 V8 weights 135kg.
Amazing how Porsche can make a engine that has doubled the cylinders and 2.7x displacement weighting only 1kg more.

The 918 is also 10x the price of a 4C

I should have stopped and said hi, as I always enjoy your posts and I figured it was someone on this board. I was exercising my R8 somewhat briskly and noticed it too late. I was heading to the office to do some quotes and after I was done, i looked but you had moved on. Too bad, car looked fantastic.

Me myself and Irene............
Seriously, I do most of the driving. My wife also. But I also trust a few people from the dealerships, be it Ferrari or Porsche. I mean, if the dealership trusted someone enough to have them move a LaFerrari or the owner's 10mil Maserati, I would too.
Had a very good weekend doing the show, weather was very nice and had a great time mingling with old friends and networking with new people.
Saw the Felino for the 1st time in person, basically a bat mobile that I cannot get in and get out, and the driving position is almost like the current F1 cars, but it will be a hoot to drive, 2600lbs with 600+HP from Corvette engines in various tune.
Pagani was nice enough to invite me and my wife for dinner, but since my wife was down for the count with jet jag, my dinner date turned out to be none other than Frank Stephenson.
Pagani showed off their Huayra spyder in a private viewing, which was the reason for the dinner. Beautiful machine but I am still not quite warmed up to a Pagani.
I got to pick Frank's brain on design, both current and future direction of McLaren. Being the straight shooter that I am, I told him flatly that part of the reason I cancelled my P1 order was that joker face. Being the gentleman that he is, he took the criticism very kindly and proceed to explain that he had wanted to do the joker face all along to put some edginess in McLaren's styling, he understands that not everyone likes that and it was already toned down for the 570S, but he has gone a different direction after that car anyway. I have a lot of respect for that man and that's the bottom line.
I also spent a lot of time inside a Huracan. I think I might have found my next car. I believe it is well worth whatever premium it commands over the Audi R8. Never had Lambo before but this could very well be my first one.
A bianco Fuji LaFerrari also made it's debut locally, bitter sweet for me. Finally get to see one in person and it's not mine. Probably won't see it again as the owner is very likely just going to lock it away somewhere, what a waste of an allocation. Fit and finish is one of the worse I have seen though, I thought my old Speciale was bad for paint finishing, this is 10 times worse, no idea how Ferrari quality control even approve releasing the car. The lower lip of the from bumper seems like it was installed before the paint was even dried, there was paint drips and pooled on the panel gap between them. Then there are little contaminants all over the paint, tiny little black dots embedded within the paint creating tiny little 'volcanos'. Didn't say a damn thing about it, not my car so not my concern, plus the owner probably won't even care, he is just happy to be the only one in town with one.
But boy the car has PRESENCE, it just commands everyone around it to look at it and adore it and worship it. What a car from Ferrari.
Had a good chat with the owner of the dealership also, he is happy to have his already, but he also have some choice words for FNA and Ferrari SpA. They borrowed his 275 for Pebble Beach earlier. Said they will reimburse him for transportation and insurance. They stiff him instead. With Ferrari, it's a love hate relationship, actually more like an abusive one, Ferrari will treat everyone like shit but we still falls for it. We are just suckers.
It will be great to see a Huracan next to your other toys, great move from you, the V10 is one of the best sounding engines out there and it looks the real exotic. German tech and reliability with Italian soul, what more could you wish
I´m amazed about your description on LF quality paint, it can only be a single case, a one and only Friday car maybe
Doesn´t surprise the 570S getting more attention than 488, to most comun eyes there´s not much difference between 458 and 488, and 570S is a brand new and beautiful product, best looking McLaren of this new era in my opinion.

Hey Nick,
Too bad I could not find you yesterday.
Your black 918 attracts a lot of attention from young kids, all surrounding it and taking pictures. The silver 918 and CGT were quite lonely.
Didn't stay very long, the lineups for food at VIP areas were amazingly long... only grabbed a couple of white wines at Porsche stand... the jewelry display were quite good, one necklace that my wife likes were asking for 3 millions, I told the guy that I don't want to sell my house yet...
BTW, was there really an F12 behind your two Porsches??

Yes I know about the kids, when I was around I unlocked the doors and let each and every one have a seat and take pictures. Start their love for Porsches early :) but everyone seems to ignore the bright orange RS next to the 918, almost like it was invisible too.
Earlier the Burmester North America CEO popped by and took lots of pictures of their system in my car. he was one of the first civilians to drive a 918 prototype.
I skipped the VIP food, the food trunk with the pull pork sandwich is the thing to eat. And I skipped the VIP drinks also, was bar hopping between Ferrari McLaren and Porsche.
