They had an October build for November/December delivery available, but thought I would get a 2015-registered car instead and save 4 months parking fees :-) I'd pretty much have to park it up for the winter straight away..
There's also the possibility that the 918-style seats that are on the US configurator for builds November onwards become standard - that would be nice..

Woaw , David !!!! You have pulled the trigger faster then me !!!! Congratualtions and I am really happy for you. That will give you 10 years of added youth . But you will need now to join in ALL track events
Great choose of color . I would probably take the same options as you . So you skipped interior leather ? ( I would hesitate on that one, the car does not need it, it is a loss of money, but maybe it adds a bit of luxury .... ??? )
I am still waiting for the RS news. Lots of different rumors . If the price is way too high , I will go with the GT3 also .

I'm not 100% decided on the colour.. I think a GT needs to be in a bit of a shouty colour, and I reckon yellow only really works with PCCB (not getting that).Carrara White Metallic interests me - they had a Turbo S cabrio in that colour there. The metallic particles are pretty subtle though. Otherwise something more sensible/Swiss like Agate Grey or Dark Blue Metallic (although it would be a bit weird turning up at events with Bluelines in twin cars).
My vote goes to Carrera white metallic. Eventhough I definitely like the guards red as well.
Carrera white metallic is IMHO a perfect color for this car. It's brighter than standard white and in the sun, because of the metal particals, this color shows off the curves very well. Anyway, you can't really go wrong with either color.

Interesting - it was rather dark in the showroom this morning at 8am, so it was a bit difficult to see the effect of the metallic white. It would certainly be a rare colour on a GT3. I was trying to keep costs down (a bit), so would probably delete the red seat belts if I went for white metallic..
@gnil - thanks - and yes, I spec'ed full leather/alcantara. Looks a bit cheap otherwise IMO.

White car, with the full leather/alcantara interior and the standard white stitching sounds like a perfect match to me. And indeed it would be a pretty rare color I guess, which I always like. No need for red seatbelts... (But that's of course just a personal preference).
Whatever you do, you can't really go wrong with any spec on this car.

Aren't red seatbelts standard on the 991 GT3, as was the case with previous GT models?

As a few of you point out, I am not getting any younger, and am in danger of becoming a dull old fart, so I went against my normal habit of avoiding making a decision and ordered a GT3 for March delivery.
Excellent news Dave!!! Congratulations!

Regarding the color. If you decide for white metallic you have to go all the way with chrome polished wheels, gold plated windscreen wipers and mink tails fur interior. Otherwise the hip-hop boys will laugh at you.
Keep it red.

Good point. I wonder if the front lift can be configured to bounce up and down?

I was originally pretty keen on the Cayman GT4 - being a fan of mid-engined cars, but it is taking forever, and I have a nasty suspicion that it'll end up as a slightly better parts-bin special than the GTS - i.e. hobbled once more by marketing strategy. I really can't see it getting a PDK-S, GT-style suspension components or a 'special' engine like the GT3.
The other possibility was a Boxster GTS - much as I love them, a 3rd Boxster really would have been a sensible choice. Maybe I just keep this one for those days I want some wind where my hair was.

Registered for Scuderia yet? Give the old Boxey a final trashing on the Ring and burn those PCCBs to pieces

In New Zealand at least red belts must be ordered for $590. I vote for rhodium! Thats what i ordered this weekend Feb delivery. Good show Dave

Congratulations Dave - amazing car. Like you watching GT3 videos, I keep watching the videos of the Boxster / Cayman GTS as well....You are also getting your car same time as me. I recall when you collected your Aqua blue Boxster S from Burgess Hill and we met up with my aqua blue Cayman S. You've really upstaged me this time though!
My vote defintely goes to carrara white, it is a beautiful pure white, without being garish, normal solid white looks off white when seen together. White is also of course a traditional Porsche sporting colour. Photos courtesy of carreraaddict.

........ I'll give the carrara white some thought, and go take a look at the Turbo S again - hopefully in some sunshine.......
Not only would Carrara White be a GT3 traditional colour Dave - even more significant would be a Rennteam tradition - you and I get new cars, same time, same colour!
But as I've said here many times there is no right or wrong with colours, everyone has their favourite, don't be swayed by what anyone else says (except me and Suzy of course ) - it's YOUR car at the end of the day. If Carmine Red is your favourite go for it. Yes it's more money but not that much more considering the cost of the car.
