For me exactly the opposite - plus here in Switzerland there are so many Audi A6's and RS models it's booooooring...
I would definately go for a E63S Wagon - just have to wait for the first big depreciation - they use to have quite a big hit in the first year or two. Let's wait n see
No rs6 in usa, but they are available in NZ, only $160 usd... In usa, 2012 2wd e63 wagons are 78-85 usd so at 106 usd might as well go 2014! Bjoern, i wish it was 2016, and 2014 e63s wagons were depreciated!
the reason for an suv is ground clearance when off road, crossing railroad tracks, etc.
For old dogs, they just cant jump that high any more.....it used to be such easy ballet, theyd zip up into our suvs seats
Slightly used but almost new AMG models are often bargains over here in Germany. I had been offered a one year old C63 AMG sedan with only 8k km for 50k EUR flat. Ouch. Also most AMG models, with the exception of the G-class and the SLS maybe (the new A class seems also to keep it's value quite well for now), seem to loose 30-35% of their initial MSRP value the moment you put a license plate on them.
An AMG Mercedes would be my first choice for a somehow "affordable" powerful family car if I wouldn't be that crazy about Porsche.

well, after reviewing other wagon options [again no rs6 avant here] I couldn't help it, we can now carry all three dogs around in the new white 4wd e63 s amg wagon it should be here in a couple weeks. the ones sealers have ordered are selling out but i did find one with bang n olefson stereo, and didnt want to order one, since all i would change is the burl from ash, and the beige interior does not include carpets [still black] which means no advantage with white and yellow dog hair... $112k us for a new, and 15k miles 2013 is $87k, and 4.5k m 2012 is $82 k so they're holding up here. so why not get the 4wd 2014? pix to follow on arrival

The Bang and Olefson system is superb; just did a comparo same CD with the Burmeister in the 991 both fantastic systms with fat bass beyond belief and clear across the spectrum, and i can even figure out the control for it in the amg which i was worried about having that i drive controller thing.
