    Thank you for posting this.  It has always been like that on 911 Speedsters (G 3.2, 964), just this time the clamshell has an electrical lock otherwise the operation is very similar.  I guess it is part of the Speedster experience.

    On the Speedster the owner is to supposed to keep the top open all the time, California style.
