I'm glad you like it Gnil. Choosing the options on a car always ends up being very subjective and no matter what it's never to everyone's taste. In my case I really wanted a specification that would tone down the "elegant and composed" portrayal of the 991 and aesthetically enhance the sporty and raw nature of the car. I wanted to do this without having the accoutrements of the sport design spoiler etc. Just highlight the simple minimal lines of the car. Hence the colour and wheels.

Your 991 is actually the only one I' ve '' seen'' that realy stear up my emotions.... in a nice way .
It looks much sportier then the other configurations .
I couldn't agree more. 
I've said it before and say it again: if I would go for a 991, your colour and wheel choice would be exactly what I would choose.

Firstly, thank you all for your comments. You're making me blush on my choice of combo 
Bridggar, good question. Lighting conditions change the hue of the platinum silver changes dramatically. IMO there seems to be a meridian metallic effect. Maybe a paint supremo on the forum can explain the composition of Platinum Silver. I know for sure that it is a warmer silver than GT Silver. Here's a picture of the car in my garage.

Your Carrera S looks fantastic in the pictures (and more so in reality I would imagine).
The Platinum Silver has some gold/beige undertones but not as much as "Meridian". The Meridian was too beige to my eyes, the Platinum still silver but different to previous Porsche silvers.
The wheels in the chosen colour look very harmonious with the body colour because there isn't so much contrast as with totally black wheels.

Am officially jealous! I like my wheels, but not as much as yours! They are just perfect with Platinum Silver. and the black window surrounds, headline interior shells, trim etc- amazingly harmonious.
I also have Sport PASM- makes all the difference in the "set" of the car visually and dynamically- and 5mm spacers as small as they are fill the wheel wells just enough that Porsche people have to stop and stare.

Chuck, I think I was just lucky. I ordered the combo unseen and it turned out fine. My original order was Agate and platinum wheels. Then I SA an agate for real and it looked somewhat dull and a dirty grey. I got my order amended and took the risk of the platinum wheels because I had seen them and they looked great. They were on a black car and it looked good. I have been considering the spacers and did wonder whether 5mm were pronounced enough. At the time of order I declined the 5mm option. As I don't like to go with anything that is 3rd party I haven't given the issues mush thought. I await your comments.

Thank you. I too was convinced about the wheels the moment I saw them at the dealer. They look so much better when seen for real. The bonus is that they are a breeze to clean. I came back from a 160 mile fun drive yesterday (which was fantastic) and a quick wash and rinse and hey presto... as good a s new.
