I am looking forward to hearing your excuses taking the boxi to the ring instead of the GT3.........
The difference in lap times would be really interesting.....
Hahaha, I hope I can check it out until the end of the season (if Eifel weather and work schedule allows).
@ Dave63: my initial impression is indeed that rear visibility is more restricted compared to the 987. I'll give a more in-depth report once I have more time for driving. Sadly there are some 4'000 miles between me and the new toy right now as I am in NY this week. Spotted an aqua blue 991S with the aero design kit today over here - a real looker Also a guy with a 997 GT3 equipped with a exhaust sounding like a Cup exhaust - really extreme and unexpected sounds in the streets of Manhattan
@ all: wow - so much very positive comments make me even more happy with our choice and help to overcome the separation sadness right after the pick-up joy
Pics and in-depth report will follow right after the new baby and I are reunited again!
Ahhh, and before I forget to mention: the copyright for the Bonsai 918 numberplate actually belongs to Mrs. PJ - just shows how much of a Porsche geek she has become over the 987S ownership
Though her taste is a little bit on the expensive side (at least too expensive for me ). Her favourites - strictly from a design POV - are GT1 and 918. Luckily the 981 comes as a close 3rd

dreamcar:You must ask your dealer to adjust the wheel crest - the base of the Porsche crest should align with the tyre valve - it's one spoke out of alignment in your wheel close up pic .....
Haha, good catch, DC They also should have adjusted the "showroom tire pressure"

Probably be unlucky to get some Herbert with a screwdriver scratching those lovely wheels when adjusting the crest. I have seen that before. Beware, Achim.. DIY.

Hehe, "bonsai 918 license", funny, really funny.
A little amusement for the insider following you on the road.
BTW - congratulations, Achim, really a striking color combination. I knew that white compliments the Boxster quite well but would not have expected that the red roof fits in so well. Enjoy it in good health!

Congrats - the painted plastics make a marked difference with that colour combo - it'd be interesting to see it parked next to a stock white, red or yellow car. Really liking the simple PORSCHE across the rear also. Of the ones I've seen so far I've come away with the impression that the rump looks a little high - but perhaps the simple omission of Boxster S softens the perception? Who knows...
Can't wait for your initial impressions.
