It makes sense to resurrect the " real " Targa per this image - most folks prob couldn't tell the difference between the recent ones and a coupe anyway and it couldn't sell any worse than recent ones - perhaps more as the boomers could want one for nostalgia - ( my first 911 was an '87 triple black Targa ) . But with today's miniscule front trunk space, don't know where they would stow the fold-up top - hope they don't elim the rear seat to use as its storage space - that would be a deal breaker for most buyers.IMO.
Plus, with Porsche never missing an opportunity to gouge its loyal 911 customers , this style Targa gives them the ability to charge $$$ options for hoop and mirrors in carbon look , flat black , Basalt black, brushed stainless steel, white vinyl for Jersey Shore , Tiger skin -look for Chinese mkt, gold-plated for Middle East , etc.. .

Yup, same as the spy shots. What finally confirmed it was the spoiler and how they hid it, same as the spy shots. I should have tried to turn around and try to follow it.

Wow! This is a perfect example of how tastes are such a personal thing.
The Portuguese (and I'm sure others) have a saying that declares that " Tastes should never be discussed/argued".
To me, the Autocar rendering is far too much Ford GT rather than Porsche. Also - really don't like the roof-line (far too flat).
Finally, the last thing a modern mid-engined Porsche needs are those horrible decals!
They look OK on a 70's inspired GT3, not a future 9XX that will have to not only match , but beat the likes of McLaren and Ferrari 458.
