What an incredible car. Forget the fact that its a bargain, that thing is faster than the Enzo, Zonda, Carrera GT around the 'ring. Hard to believe. Knowing that I will be able to afford such a car in the near future is very encouraging

It's a little difficult to compare times, since all the cars you mentioned were tested on street tires and the Z06 uses DOT track tires (legal on the street, just like current Porsche GT cars).
It is 7 sec faster than the published time for the RS 4.0 on Cups though at way less than half the price...

I understand the difference in tires accounts for a lot. Nevertheless, faster than the RS 4.0 and almost GT2RS pace is pretty spectacular. I will always be a Porsche guy, but until I can afford a Porsche GT, I think a nice used ZO6 will suffice.

American engineers know nothing about cars especially those to be used at the Ring.
and the GM team must have used a special course with no turns - just an oval , since the car board world religiously believes to be true that the Corvette ( or any car not built in winding road Europe or Asia) is only a straight line car engineered for stop-light drag strips and broad, endless boring multi-lane Mid West Interstate freeways "where race you to the next off-ramp" is for bragging rights .
I showed this video to some friends who claim, "There is no way the speed is accurate on that video, 130 mph through those turns? Does not look like he is going that fast." Note that they did not dispute the lap time, not corvette haters or anything like that. I am not convinced that the speedo is accurate either, doesn't it seem higher than the true speed? If it is accurate, that is incredible...
