I have not driven the SLS so I will defer to your judgment regarding performance and ride comfort. I agree the sound of the SLS is terrific. They showed us a video of the car on a track and we were impressed with the exhaust.

NONE of us were impressed with its looks. THey brought us back twice (a year apart) with styling modifications and it did not change our minds. The car sat in the middle between a 430, 599, Porsche TT and MB S63. If I am not mistaken, we all thought it was the worst looking car on the floor.

Have you considered the SLS Convertible? Most of us really like the look much better than the coupe. I probably will be out in a year. in a year the reviews from owners of the SLS coupe will have come in regarding the car.

Nick, if I go for SLS AMG it will be base specs car. I really need to think very hard about it. Main reason for my potential SLS buy is the fact that I can get 458 earliest in March 2011. That is 10 months from now...

IMO 997.2 Turbo PDK or 997.2 Turbo S is still the best buy by far in above 500hp class. It is almost perfect car and I liked it even more then SLS AMG.

SLS Cabrio? Hmm... Not a bad idea. Just... How much more kgs will it weight? Doors will be conventinal ones which is good thing IMHO.

the wanted the car as rigid as possible and therefore hinged the doors on the roofline to have fuller body supports on the sides.

Since someone just brought up the color options on the 458, I figured I'd add what someone posted on Fchat.

Two tone exterior (roof different than body) is a $15K option! Rip-off!

seems like you have to really like those looks to get the SLS. Autocar does great reviews.

Funny how England has the best car shows by far compared to other countries with big car industries.

Here are a few real life pics I took today.

There are at least 3 SLS driving around in my town. One black, one silver and one grey

A good friend of mine drove one on the Ring. He said that car is nice but the suspension is way too '' mercedes'' like.

I did not like the car when I saw it at the Geneva show, but now that I have seen it a feww times driving in the streets around here , I must say I like it now more and more . It has alot of road presence
