There is no second generation Cayenne Turbo S yet but it is planned and development is almost finished.
Porsche did a very clever thing lately: they concentrate on 0-60 mph figures because this is what customers/forum users keep bragging about all the time when they discuss sportscars or high performance SUVs/sedans.
The latest rumor I heard was that the new Cayenne Turbo is going to hit 100 kph in 4.7 seconds. Now a british car magazine brought the 4.6 seconds into the game, maybe this is the figure Porsche is going to use as an official performance figure, also maybe because it is faster than the X5/X6 M figure. The X5/X6 M shocked the Cayenne developers when BMW released this car, Porsche had taken into account a power figure of around 500-510 HP but never the current 555 HP. So they had to tweak performance a little bit further and it won't be a surprise that the new Cayenne Turbo indeed hits 0-100 kph in a sub-5 seconds time but from 0-200 kph, it will be slower than the X5/X6 M. Not by much but the latest figure I had was almost two seconds slower. You can't have it all I guess.
Don't expect a huge HP figure bump for the next generation Turbo S, power will not exceed 560 HP. Due to the lower weight of the new generation Cayenne (Turbo is rumored to be 135-150 kg lighter than the current one), the Turbo S will surely outperform ANY high performance SUV on the market...unless BMW comes up with their rumored Performance Kit version of the M.
No matter what and how...it is going to be interesting times for those who love high performance SUVs. Til the next energy crisis jumps in.
