    "service due in "xxx" miles message"

    As my 2006 997 approaches 15,000 miles I'm seeing a message on the display that a service is soon due. Is there anyway to clear or re-set this without visiting the dealer?. Manual is no help and I wasn't planning on a dealer service until 20k as I change the oil annually myself.

    Must be a reason for the warning - may be some part of the car is due for a check - surely worth a visit to your dealer to check it out to make sure you are not overlooking something. Smiley

    What's the registration date of your car?  Did you buy it from new? 

    This can make a difference to the service interval as your car's computer may well have been set when it left the factory rather than when it was first driven...

    I don't think you can do it without an ODB2 scanner. The car is programmed to let you know XX amount of days before your 24 month service date, regardless of oil changes. You're looking at a brake fluid flush for the 24 month service.

    Yes, I purchased the car new in august of 2006. I'm guessing the message is tied to the odometer as I'm neearing 15,000 miles.
