Whoopsy is right (apart from the V10 engines currently not used of course). Back in the early 90s when all engine types that were NA and up up to 3.5 litres were permited, Ferrari and Honda V12s produced by far the most power and all that was due to high revving. Cosworth V8s were more than 100 BHP down on power as they could not rev that high but made bucketloads of toque. Of course the V12 blitzed the opposition in fast tracks, whereas they torquey V8s had an advantage in slower tracks (not to mention that they were much more fuel effiucient as well).

Domenicalli said that it is too late to recommence negotiations with the FIA. Witmarsh than the new series is a go and Briatore that the new series will be set in stone this Thursday. Looks like they will go ahead with it after all.

Great to hear. I'm still not conviced though that a new series will see the light, simply because it seems too good to be true.
Let's just hope that Max and Bernie see the light and walk off into the sunset whilst holding hands.

You are letting them off to easy, I say "off with their heads!" just in case they decided to come back
Hmmm, I must be getting a little too mellow as I get older.
Let's compromise. If they do not voluntarily walk off into the sunset, and soon, then we'll have their heads.
I'd be inclined to have them whipped out of their respective jobs, but Max would probably enjoy it. And I don't think he would deserve that.

a good olde fashion whipping is out of the question, Max would just keep coming back
You were right all along.
Off with their heads!

That does not paint a pretty picture..

Yes, Carlos is right... as per usual.

True, but you will surely agree that they deserve each other.

Can't deny that... and come to think of it, 'Spanky & the Midget' would make a fine Circus act..
They've often reminded me of a puppetmaster and his puppet:
Except, in their case, the puppet pulls the strings.

Bernie has already seen the light, he wants Max to give-in to FOTA, Bernie knows without the top teams there will be no money, no racing, no future for F1, he is thinking with his wallet, Max was thinking with his balls.
Pure speculation, but if Max doesn't back down amd FOTA completes the breakaway, I would not be surprise if Bernie jump ship over to FOTA.

It looks as if Ferrari are trying to guage the public's support for a breakaway series.

Yes, I agree, if Smax get's a good spanking, The Poison Dwarf will become very friendly with FOTA.
Fact is Spanky & the Midget may deserve each other, but FOTA and Bernie need each other to make a break-away work..

Apparently, a deal has just been done for the F1 championship next year and there will be no breakway championship. Max Mosley will not be seeking re-election as FIA President:

The good news is that Smax will not stand for re-election.
A puppet will only take his place so all will be the same I'm afraid. Can't believe the FOTA setteled for this, if true they lost my respect.
They settled for "We'll discuss this next year", they did not agree on budget restrictions.
John H:
There has to be a compromise and that will come about because Mosley stands down next year.
If it doesn't happen then that will be the end of Formula One and we'll have FOTA organising 17 races...all held at Silverstone!!
From my post earlier in this thread.
It's so boring being right all the time...
