Swedish TV is reporting that a group including Koeniggsegg is negotiating to buy Saab from GM.
Can this be "for real"?
I've read that somewhere as well, but it wasn't Swedish TV. Would be a bold move from Koenigggsisiseggeggeggggg, but reminds me somehow of Porsche/VW or Scheffler/Continental.
The secret of life is to admire without desiring.

So you think the bid will not be successful then?
I heard it on CNBC Europe, which attributed the report to Swedish TV.
PS: Is that the authentic Clarkson spelling of Koenigggsisiseggeggeggggg?

It was all over Swedish public news tonight and Koenigsegg aquire SAAB together with Eker Group which is a Norwegian company with very stable finances and A LOT of money. The negotiations are still ongoing but GM has selected Koenigsegg and hence denied the other bidders where Fiat was one.
SAAB can meet an exciting future and I think it's very good that it's back in "Nordic hands"... The downside is of course that the new owner is a nicheplayer... maybe we will see SAAB's with 700hp in the future

Let's just hope that they do not once again prove the old rule that the only way to make a small fortune out of building cars is to start with a large fortune.

When they will see how much it costs to really develop a new car they will not know how to sell as quick as possible the company again... Remember Chrysler ... Koenigseg should focus on fixing that horryble 4 dour mock up that they have presented in Geneva instead of throwing the money...
