I think the old design has a "cleaner" look. If I had to choose I would go for the pre-FL looks. However, if the new back makes the car faster - who cares. Performance is everything
+ 1
I still don't like the new rear wing and pre FL has a nicer rear bumper and wing design. However LED lights on the FL make the rear look newer and brighter.
But in the end, this is a GT3 and performance is everything.

newer is better in this case.
The bottom is cleaner, the wing is neater, and the vents look professional.
Before it was a 911 with a wing now it is an integrated package, All from looks perspective. PJ still has an awesome performer.
And why waste all the time on thr gtr, that is one of the blandest, lousiest looking cars of all time,

In these particular shots i think the 997.1 looks better because of the clean color. Red is taking away from the lines a little and makes for a more messy shot with the tail lights and all.
At any rate the 997.2 looks like a more solid serious track tool, showing more total pacakge.
Ideally i would take the 997.1 lights but with LEDs. Then take the 997.2 lower bumper so that that 997.1 horzontal line just underneath the license plate is gone. That would be perfect car.

I think the opposite, the new one has the cleanter look. And its always amazing how little changes are making the car look newer and more modern.
Regarding the Datsun - shocking how huge this car is!
Exactly my thoughts, conerning both, the butt of the GT3 new/old and the incredible size of the ricer compared to the 997.
Great pics Lars, thanks for sharing.

Thanks P-J
That GT-R is H-U-U-U-G-E!!
As between 997.1 GT3 and 997.2 GT3, I love both and would happily have either It's like being asked "Which supermodel would Sir prefer?"

As I said in another post, the backend looks much more coherent if viewed from a proper spectactor´s angle. The new elements give the car a much more technical appearance compared to its predecessor.
Anyways, I wouldn´t mind watching Achim´s beautyqueen(s) anytime...
From my personal view I think both look equally good from behind. The changes are very subtle. I prefer the older rear lights to the new ones, but I like the new bumper more... so at the final count, there is no clear winner for me. They both look superb.
I prefer the new front of the FL though.

@ Gauss and Misha: great pics I knew someone would upload a pic with the real thing
With the nice rears its like with the great sound - more enjoyable if you follow the car instead of sitting behind the steering wheel

Almost perfect
Almost? What is missing in your eyes?
Actually, I included PJ´s better half in my comment but he seems to be a true car nut...
Actually, my perfect combination is Scuderia & X6
