What's the differences between the Cargraphic & GIAC tune?
I see Cann has a GIAC thread, I know he does his homework & obviously so does Alex, so any interest in discussing the pro's/con's of both?
Since I already have the tubi, I guess the performance #'s of whether I stayed w/ the tubi or went w/ the cargrahic exhaust when I added the ECU wouldnt make a difference. So is there a comparison of GIAC w/ exhaust to compare w/ the Cargrahic set-up like Alex has w/ the Exhaust & ECU?

Super Darius:
i whant to upgrade to CG power kit 2 too!!
give me a week and i will take the final decision...i need power!!!!!!!!!!
Yes!
You too are succumbing to peer pressure? Congrats.
In the US the triad of muffle-less muffler , Bilstein, and ECU tune is a foregone conclusion for many Turbo owners. A tried and true path; its validity proven and it does transform the Turbo into an incomparable daily-driver.
I've driven the roads around Lake Como -- alas in some front wheel drive Fiat , but... enough for me to know that while you're at it, you should really consider adding the Bilstein as well. I don't give recommendation loosely and IMO Bilstein is designed with lake Como type roads in mind! Moderately stiffer, but hungers for curves, and still very much street friendly.
In addition, because the added power of an ECU tune may cause too much front-back weight transfer (squatting with acceleration), stiffer suspension like Bilstein is acknowledged by many to be the step to do before a power upgrade.
Perhaps then there would be no need for you to get the facelift Turbo; wait for 991 instead?

Ciao Can
Glad you enjoy the road near the lake!!but next time take another car!!!
Well..i'm tooking the final decision in these hours..
From a side i will like to take the 997 Turbo MK2..due is new,due has leds, due is something new in the box...
BUT
It will be white, like my current Turbo, and it will have cocoa interior like my current turbo,so it will be a copy of my car,but i will have at least 60.000 euros less in the pocket
and this is not good...
So,my Turbo has 21.000kms on the speedo, has two years and half and it seems yesterday i took it home,is like new over and under, and i like it like i never liked a car in my life..so,why change it now?i believe i can wait the 991TT...i will try at least!
Today,i think next week i will go to the stage 2,i'm really happy with my CG exhaust so i think i can't go wrong also with the Ecu tune.
And believe me,till now i don't need the necessity to have also more power, the Turbo is just perfect IMHO,sure i will like also Bilstein and new wheels...but muffler that muffle less apart that i changed after two months from delivery,i can't ask more at the Turbo.
Bilstein after ecu mods, only becouse i think i will use the power added only in case of something engage me on the "Autostrada",if i will use all that power on the roads near the lake ...mh..make easy i will jump in the lake...
Coming back on why the need to upgrade,i'm sure that the Ecu mod is only an excuse to let take me the decision to stay with my car..
Another excuse is that in September i'm going to be dad for the firts time,so maybe in the next early times i will have not much time to enjoy a new car and give it all attentions it need..,so i will save money,i enjoy my kid and i will wait the new 991TT...
At least this i what i think now...maybe in the next two months i will change idea 7 times...but this is..
ciao

Dario,
First, much much congrats on the great news of the addition to your family!
Remember to take lots of pictures and video; you -- and your kid(s) -- will love watching them 15-20 years from now. And I mean a lot. I did and now still wish I had done more.
Re. car, your logic makes perfect sense to me. Unlike 991, facelift 997 Turbo may not be worth the upgrade. I do not think the change will be drastic and then 991 will just be around the corner. And I do think 991 *WILL* be a leap forward.
In addition, because of Porsche's philosophy for the Turbo -- a quiet & comfortable GT -- in my opinion a modded Turbo Mark I will be better than un-modded Mark II in many important aspects. Those that are related to a more sporty & "noisy" character. LOL
Regarding driving lake Como, that was my better rental car! A mid size rental. The first time I visited Italy our children weren't old enough to be traveling w/ us, and I didn't have much extra $, so my wife and I rented a tiny car, like a Fiat Uno type. I remember feeling like getting blown off the autostrada by faster and bigger passing cars. So scary!

Thanks for the wishes!
And coming back on cars, the more i think the more i'm sure to stay with my car till 991TT,so i think beginning of May i will let start the mods..
About your trip in Italy,i think all people at least one time in life must loan a Fiat Uno to make that scary experience you have done it,so now you are ok!
