racerx:
right up there with NYC, LA, and Seattle and bangkok and HK. Very nice GTG.
I wonder if cops are a problem on a ride there. I have no clue whether you have much of a police force or if they care much of speed enforcement. Not very well informed on such things.
One photo looks like crossing a miltary checkpoint, between rival sections? kind of surreal in scuds.
The army checkpoints are only located on the city limits of neighboring cities, and near army camp locations. They never stop anybody unless they are put on alert by someone higher up in the chain of command. You should have seen the look on their faces when we passed through the checkpoint. Im sure we made their day.
The cops in Lebanon are pretty passive. Especially when it comes to supercars. Im sure its a different story if you were driving around one of those MK II Golf GTI's with a BMW 735i engine dropped into it...ya, people do that here
But when its a proper supercar, they usually encourage you to hit the gas so they can hear the exhaust note
Speed laws really are not enforced here. For example, when i used to drive around SoCal, i spent most of the time looking in my rearview for the CHP. Not only is that annoying, but its unsafe. Here in Lebanon, i put the pedal to the metal and never look back. Its just not something i even think about.
I do wish we had better roads/asphalt though. Oh well...can't have it all. At least we have a really decent group of people in the Ferrari circle. Most Ferrari owners in other countries are a bunch of tools.
Cheers
