the CS I drove ( very nice but give me a 928 every time )
Beautiful. I think the CS goes down as one of the most gorgeous cars of all time. Pictures dont do the car justice, you dont see the coke bottle shape from most pics.
I shoulda kept mine.

Ever run into one of the cars you sold? It happened to me below, my CS a year after I sold it.
The guy I sold it to (through the dealer) also has a Scud

Looks nice. I'm thinking about doing a little tour through the North East this year and plan to take a ferry from Bridgeport into Port Jeff and then into the city. I've been to Port Jeff before, it's really nice. I found that L.I. is very scenic in general.

Port Jeff is nice too, I ride there 3 or 4 times every summer. L.I. has some beautiful places. It's a great place to live especially in western Nassau county, I'm 25 minutes from the city and 20 minutes from the beaches. Let me know maybe we'll get together.

^^^ The 360 CS design was so much sexier and smoother than the 430. Even after what, 5 years now, I'm still not entirely in love with the 430 design except for the rear with the exposed diffusor.
Even the engine sounded better since it was a smaller displacement and gave you more of that Ferrari shriek at the mid and upper ranges.
I wish, when I get Ferrari money of course, I could take a 360 body and mate it to all the improvements from the 430. One can only wish and dream though ... I don't have the bank account of the guy who did the P4/P5 :)
...the only thing stopping you in all likelihood, is you!
I agree with you about the rear diffuser, it looks good. The thing that i think detracts from both cars, but specially the 360 is the headlight enclosure thing, It looks cheap. if they could have made the whole inside area one big glowing light instead of 3 cheapo looking ones it would have made a big difference.
Anyway I think the 360 looks best in black and the scud in titanium

Will do. I also tried to tour the Vanderbilt mansion but it was closed for reno's. I did tour one up the Hudson somewhere though.

Agree 99%. I prefer much of the CS design too especially the front bumper & side sills. On the F430 I like the diffuser too but the part I like much better about the 430 is the rear, & the interior of course. Also prefer the more aggressive look to the rear quarters. And prefer the 430's vents, both up front in the front bumper & in the rear quarter.

Vanderbuilt is very nice, reminds me of where I got married; Oheka.
Check it out, the the 2nd largest home in America: Oheka Castle about 30 minutes from me it's in Cold Spring Hills L.I. (Huntington area) Also know as the Great Gatsby estate. Twice the size of Hearst Castle.

Emperor:
Loud sound like that gets tiring after 2 weeks. The cons outweigh the pros of attracting uneccessary attention.
I couldn't agree more. I think fiddling with the CGT exhaust sound is blasphemous. The Porsche engineers had the perfect exhaust sound.
Now the TT exhaust sound is where they went amiss.

All depends on whether it is pleasant loud or just loud and what you use your car for.
Pulling up to starbucks and rattling the cups of the prius drivers will only get you dirty looks.
Driving it like a sportscar away from the public for pure driving pleasure will only give you smiles. People go to F1 races for the sound and speed
Tom, I believe you are in need of an enema. You have been cranking lately and writing stupid posts.
The thread is basically all about subjective feelings. I post based on experience given that I drive a Ferrari and driven the CGT often. Though subjective, my opinions are founded in fact.
I wasn't going to mention it Nick, but yesterday on the OT thread you agreed with Fritz that OT should be scaled back, then on the 2nd page you expressed outrage that someone even suggested doing just that. You did a 180 in the space of a few posts.
But now you're calling me an unpleasant name because I like a louder sounding car.
My ears work too Nick. I have driven the stradale and been on a ride with a CGT, not to mention dozens of others with just about every car in existence.
I have been to many F1 races in person, stood in the pits within 5 feet of Ferrari F1 cars being run and worked on.
I have as much experience hearing these cars as anyone here. I have 25 years of experience driving and being around these cars.
Yes it is subjective, but most guys who buy these cars for pure fun and w/o an eye for re-sale put aftermarket exhuasts on them. Be it ferrari or porsche. You may not like on the CGT but many owners do and have made the change.
Are they stupid?
nberry:
Though I am a participant on the off topic section, I agree we need to scale back that discussion area.
nberry:
Some one help me out here. Because there is little posting on the car forums and more on the off topic forum the site has lost its "soul"?
The way I see it, if your going to have an off topic forum then you should expect all sorts of topics whether politics, jokes or lurid pictures of women and men.SO WHAT!!!!!!!!!
Isn't that the purpose of the forum? if viewers are not interested in the off topic items they need not visit that forum. What am I missing?
Or am i reading something else going on here? Yes, we in the US like our politics and often disagree forcefully with one another. Because we engage in a spirited discussion does that some how prevent people from discussing cars?
The more I think about this the madder I am becoming.
One more thing. Those of you who complain about the activity in the off topic forum, please tell me what you have contributed to the car forums. Fritz you live in Germany and yet I don't believe you ever started a thread in the car forums. The same goes for other's who are complaining.

Now that's Stupid! Did you have an argument with yourself yesterday about this? Who won?
Apr 21, 2009 6:00:33 PM
TOM, I wrote I would scale back but NEVER stated I would stop.
The more I thought about it the more the entire thread did not make sense. So I stated my objections.
If that is a 180 then you better learn geometry.
Finally, I was making light of the fact you have been on the muscle and for you state with absolute certainty that one sound is better than another is disingenuous. Sound is subjective.
Therefore, i recommend you have your hearing checked out. Being around all those race exhaust system has addled your hearing and mind.
