MB is selling its history....
I just returned from a classic show / exhibition (Techno Classica in Essen/Germany)...if you see the merces Benz from any decade before the 90s, you know why the marque has still the myth. Sadly thats the past....
Not to mention the original SL from the 50s. Unbelievable that they use the SL aura for that tuner dream kit....

Hmm, not what you would call overwhelming this interior, eh?
Typically Mercedes, just like another SL...

Stefan, the interior is very tight much like the Carrera GT. My biggest complaint was the elongated hood. Sitting behind the wheel is like sitting in a cockpit but the hood is massive making it, at least for me, difficult to do spirited sport driving.
I fully understand Nick, not my type of car either.

This front-engined car, has a rear transaxle for better weight distribution, like the 924/944/928 cars. I actually expected the panamera to reintroduce this configuration for Porsche, but It hasn't happened.

Impossible combination on 4WD car ( would require 2 prop-shafts ) . Panamera has near perfect wight distribution of 52 : 48 front to rear .

Good point. I never thought about that.

Take a look at the Nissan GT-R...
Thanks Ferdi
I should have typed " impossible " ..... as I meant complexity of 2 ( long and heavy ) prop-shafts .

Ferdie, you beat me to it.
That convoluted drive train is one of the reasons the GT-R is so heavy.

I suppose the Flugel-doors add something to the weight. What a pointless feature!
hmmm...well they ARE the whole point of the car.... and the only real selling point of the car
Without them it's just another high powered benz.

So the only thing M-B have to distinguish their new super(expensive)car is the funny doors?

It's the "funny doors" that make it special, just as the sciccor doors in case of the big Lambos.
