2009 Malaysian F1 Grand Prix in Sepang
Guys, another F1 GP race this weekend. It's been a fairytale start to the 2009 season for the 'back from the dead' BrawnGP-Mercedes team. A month ago, their whole future was hanging by a thread and then they qualified 1-2 and finished 1-2. A perfect debut for the new team. Button had his first chance to shine since Hungary in 2006 and he took it with both hands I've always said he is a very good driver who just needed a decent car.
I wonder how this next race will go given that very little development can be done on back-to-back race weekends. However, the track and weather conditions are very different to Melbourne. A sudden tropical rain shower could really mix things up.
I am hoping for an exciting race with lots of overtaking. So far, there have been so many technical changes and rules changes all designed to increase overtaking - I honestly don't think we saw much more of it in Melbourne than we did in 2008. But it's early days - too soon to judge whether the changes have had their desired effect.
Melbourne was a dramatic race filled with incidents - 2 safety cars - but I'm looking for a classic race this time. We were deprived of a classic finish in Melbourne with Kubica and Vettel both crashing out otherwise we could have seen a real battle for the finish between Button and Kubica.
Go Jenson
Lewis Hamilton? Who's he?
