What is it with 90' Lexus style rearview mirrors these days... I know they must be bigger acc. to new EU rules but do they have to be fugly...
Those mule pics look like official photos.
The car will definetly have some retro look to it... lets just hope the interior will be done in the same style and have high quality feel to it.

Cash, gas or ass... no one rides for free!
This SLS is pure POS IMHO. Maybe it will be technically something, just I do not like the way it looks...
P.S. Zamisli Simonicu i Antu u SLS-u. Samo im fale dve lajne koke...

Mercedes is good for taxis and comfortable geriatric limousines like a S-klasse lang.
OK and the SL models have always had something with rich wives/girlfriends.
The rest of their range, starting with the A klasse, IMO is below par compared to other competitors from BMW, VW/Audi or Porsche. Even the ultra expensive SLR has proved a big disappointment.
janus:
You guys are right about MB falling behind technologically. They need to catch up fast.
Mercedes never was a technological leader on a broad basis, they certainly have been in terms of safety. Admittedly, the very first SL (gullwing) featured some impressive technology which this new edition should reflect.
This car has very unusual proportions for a Mercedes and the curvature on the rear quarter panel is anything but common - so I would refrain from judging that car in terms of asthetics at this point of time.
