I will share my experince, yes, I have reserved 1 coming in 2010.
The car is ok as build quality, but not comparable to porsche.
But the thing is that the tesla is lightyears ahead of everybody else.
I love fast cars, but unfortunalty even here in italy it starts to be a problem driving over 180kmh without problems, so speed is not that important for an everyday car.
I will keep my 993 as an classic, and get the tesla as the daily car that can take you around your normal trip without any problmes ( i never drive more than 150km a day in worst case) so if the range is 350 km isa far enough for me.
remember that you can access town and park for free .
When you have to travel you have another car.
As far as I know, it costs in Italy around 4 Euro for a full charge = 350 km which is pretty nothing, the night you just charge your car as your mobile phone, that is all!! to cool.
very low maintance and if the batteries are in warranty for 160.00 km..I will never drive so long with that car, so I should be safe.
To change batteries costs around 10.000 E but soon we will have the nano silicon batteries ( in 4 years they say) which are 10x...if this is true.....it means over 1000 km with a charge and even more!!!
When you drive it you can feel how fast the car is thanks to the enourmous torque all the time, you just touch the pedal and it flies away..amazing...( +0- like an sl 55 amg ) .
the time of 0-100 in 3.9 is amazing.
I couldn't try the handling of it, but if top gear is true it did the track as fast as a 997 gt3!!!!!!
it is so far ahead of the time that only this is amazing driving it.
and there is no roumors at all, impressive...the police don't hear you and they don't get how fast you are driving.
Lars try one.....belive me. I love cars , and I race also did the 24 of nurburgring 2007 and other races....but this is something completely diferen..the future in my opinion..
And no porsche can with rolling start keep up the first meters and maybe not even little ( or more)after!!!
