    Already asked that question at Chester and at Wilmslow. Both said that it doesn't work like that!!

    You can have the recall done free, of course, or have PSE fitted at full price. There's no discount because they're different jobs involving different departments!! I suppose we should have expected that.

    Thanks for the reply. Looks like some of you did receive letters from Porsche. I called my dealer and they knew nothing. Asked me to wait and see if I receive a letter directly from Porsche. They have no list of cars recalled. Not a well run recall in my book.

    All OPC's can tell you what re-calls you should have had and what ones have already been implemented, simply by entering your VIN number in their computer.

    Or perhaps I should say - should be able to tell you. Some don't seem bothered to be assed.

    The dealership that I picked up my car has just changed hand and the salesman I dealt with is gone. May be that explained the lack of service. But really no excuse on the service dept not even knowing or bothers to check for me. Thanks for the tip. I'll call a different dealer and see.

    Did you buy in the Bay area?

    Just curious to hear which dealership changed owners, perhaps an improvement over the previous owner...? (I tend to go to Sonnen-Mill Valley for my pre-purchase nosing-around)...

    The old Claridges is now Porsche of Fremont. I think most of the sales guys and Mark William, the service guy are still there. But the other day, I talked to someone in service other than Mark and got the wait for the letter answer.

    Sonnen is nice and friendly. I almost bought my car there but Clardges had one on the way with all the spec I wanted. I did not have to wait more than 1.5 months from deposit to real car.

    What are you looking for?

    Just had mine changed today. It took 45 minutes and I know this sounds crazy, but the car sounds different. Seriously. It sounds deeper for some reason.

    Seriously, though, I have been battling back and forth with models--this obviously is directly tied to my income-- which can be spotty (RE sales), that and an eight-month-old baby--the choice between a C2/C2S/C4/C4S is all-consuming and gets frustrating. Best case scenario: C4S with X51 and PCCBs. Worst case: used C2 (or Yugo). I have plenty of time to mull it over and work up to the C4S X51/PCCB, I just get impatient...Coming to Rennteam daily doesn't help either, but does educate me.

    Thanks for the info on Claridge's/Porsche of Fremont, I have yet to drive over there.

    Believe me, I know how you feel. It is hard to justify an expensive toy like this but we try. Porsche comes with so many options and there are so many opinions out there, it can get really confusing when you read all these posts, but it makes the waiting more fun. Go with your heart, you only live once.... as far as I know.

    Since you have an 8 month old already, send the tall brunette my way when you find her.
