    PSE mod with extra switch

    I had a switch installed where normally you find the switch to open the roof on the cab. When on, the switch cuts the electricity of the wire going from the DMA to the vacuum pump... making the PSE on all the time.( don't need anymore to unplug the hose in the engine compartment)

    When the '' roof''switch is off, the PSE works like stock with the sport switch on or off.

    This mod had been done before (see old posts) but I don't know if anybody had done it using the cab roof switch.

    That sounds pretty cool Gnil,
    So what about the sport button then?
    It doesn't have anything to do with the PSE anymore right?
    That means theoretically, you could drive in normal mode but with PSE on? Or vice versa. Is that correct?

    I had it done technically the same way ... but my switch is taken from the Cayenne and hidden inside the center console.

    I also can drive in normal mode with PSE on ... and vice versa ... i love it.
    Paid approx. 200 Euro for the work.

    I was WONDERING if someone finally did that! (And particularly in Switzerland,--which is the reason it was done by Porsche in the first place I understand! What is that? A 50-70kph restriction on noise?)

    thanks for the tip. Now for those of us who want to do this,--which is the key wire to modify?

    It is no big deal for a car electrician to do it.

    It does if my 'roof' switch is off ( then it works like no mod has been done, on sports I have PSE on with the cut off between 50 and 80, on normal the PSE os off)

    When my 'roof' switch is on , then the sports button doesn't have any impact on the PSE as PSE is ALWAYS on.

    I have yet got the bill yet.... but will keep in mind the 200 Euro . I had also the key to deactivate the passenger's air bag done at the same time ( so I can put my sons in the front..)

    ... that cost me 450.- Euro ... works well ... my son likes it as he can see a lot more than from the back seat ...

    I always wondered if there is a reason that we have our french-speak compatriots. No I see (even though it's a rather limited one for the burden we carry with you).

    Sounds awesome. May I ask if that was done at the official AMAG dealer? I'm thinking about it too and was wondering if I could refer my mechanic to get in touch with yours if he needs more information, should I decide to do it.

    How do you fit your alpenhorn in your car? oh....it doesn't as it stays in the barn with the car until summer anyway!!!!

    Yes, it was at the official P dealer. They are not supposed to do this kind of mod, so I will not put you in contact, but if you give the mecanic the info I wrote in my post , he will have no problem doing it ( I did it that way too).

    I saw that but I'm asking WHICH wire. Is there a SINGLE WIRE that runs from the DMA to the VP? What color is it?

    Yes, there is a single wire going from DMA to the vacuum pump... but, I do not know the color.
    If you can get your hand on the 'electric map ' or ask your mechanic, you will see it clearly
