    Panicked dealer requests order...

    I had to firm up an order on Saturday with the dealer. Without any type of order guide we had to put together an order based upon 997 and 996TT order guides. Porsche NA needs the order today. We don't know a lot, but it will be one of the early cars and for some reason specs (as best as we could provide) were required. More info. when I get it.

    Just had another conversation. No choice on this car in terms of wheels and Nav will be included in this car in particular.

    probably something around 2 cents.
    Strange story indeed. But at the same time I'm not surprised. I was at the belgian motor show yesterday and I asked one of the P guys about the sport chronos turbo and he had never heard about it in his life

    Discount?! I doubt that. It's just odd to have something like this going on versus the usual stream of information and ordering process. The Cayman I just picked up followed the normal process and was picked up on the release date. -Pete

    Not strange at all. The dealer probably got a request from Porsche to specify a customer car, so they would know what kind of cars to prepare as launch cars and as first customer cars. If true, he actually has been very lucky, he may get the first specced out dealer car. Similar requests will be filed to other dealers worldwide in the near future, I'm pretty sure about it. Or it has already been done...look at our friends in India and Lebanon.

    I would definetely order it since nobody is "forced" to activate it. OK, that ugly stop watch comes with it too but a retrofit is not possible and sooner or later, you'll regret not having ordered it.

    Try selling your car without that option, 620Nm instead of 683Nm.

    OK, thanks for enlightening me RC! I am not familiar yet with the habits of cardealers, for I never bought a new luxury car yet... plannning to do so as soon as possible... probably not untill 10 years
