    Are you going to make me hack the CD player in the trunk?

    I mean honestly, a lawyer by trade, don't make me do this! I do admit "my dad has an awesome set of tools".

    But I simply cannot believe that in this year 2006, nobody has found an easy way to hook an iPOD or Sat Radio feed into the MOST system without using the dreaded FM modulator. I have to believe that the CD player in the trunk, somewhere in between the laser that reads the disc and the MOST output, has an analog stage that can be tapped. There is NO analog pair anywhere?

    What is up with Dension anyway? Is that project dead?

    OK. Rant over. But I am getting very close to hack mode. And that is dangerous.

    I can't wait until someone succeeds. Cars costing a fraction of ours have no trouble integrating direct wire ipods and satellite radio. This is the closest product I have seen but I have not heard of anyone trying it yet... http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_cleansweep_pages.php?page_id=79

    Denison is close. They Demo'd it in a cayenne at the Consumer electronics show in Vegas two weeks ago. Full IPOD control, songs displayed on the PCM, steering wheel buttons to change songs. I do have a cleansweep in my 05 997. It is great. Part of a complete IPOD integration project. Replaced all the speakers , built a new Sub, added bluetooth and of course the IPOD. I can give you all the details if you want or you can search back and find my previous posts on this. Pictures below are of the Cleansweep under the lid, The IPOD mount, and sub in the rear.

    The radio is the only thing analog in the whole system. You could tap into it but then you would lose your radio stations.

    By the way, why are you only a 1080i addict and not a 1080p addict?

    Only because 1080i was the best of the best when I registered!! I will change my handle when we go to 2160p !!!!!

    I just gotta tell ya. I'd be real scared about messing with it. There's just too much "computer" going on with the PCM. If you don't know exactly what you're doing then whole system might crash. I'm a bit shellshocked because my CD player stopped working (wouldn't such a CD in) and then the entire system started acting like a psychotic. Even the sunroof button had it's effect on the NAV crashing and re-booting itself (no kidding!).
