    I saw a Cayman on the road for the first time

    I was sitting at a red light in back of a 997 and the Cayman drove by us to make a left turn. I must tell it looked really good. Also,I hesitate to write this, but honestly it made the 997 coupe in front of me looked very dated. The Cayman looked young and fresh.

    The 997 looked like grandpa.

    I saw one Saturday as well. A silver w/ Carerra S. It pulled up to a light and revved aggressively through each gear as it pulled away. Sounded very nice although he probably wasn't adhering to break in.

    I totally agree with you about this car making the 911 look way old. I just took delivery of mine yesterday (silver with cayman s 18's) anyway I work next door to someone with a 4s (05) and he even came up to my car yesterday and said DAMN mine looks so mild compared to that thing! I couldnt aggree more...1 thing I will tell you is that the cayman s seems to be too small for taller fellows. I am soo happy with this car thoug... the way it drives and looks can only truly be appreciated by the lucky who own one. The 911 has nothing on me!

    I disagree. THe cayman looks like a woman's car. The 911 hangs like a horse. The 911S hangs like a freaking whale.

    Disagree heartily. I saw both the Cayman and Carrera 4s, etc. at the press days in Frankfurt. All a matter of personal taste, but to me Cayman actually makes the Carrera look feminine. The Cayman reminds me of an RSK and 904GTS (which I have owned), and is very muscular in appearance.

    Having said all of this, I will continue to drive Carreras (have a 996TT now and a 997TT deposit down). But it is more because of the power, the interior room, and the overall maturity of the Carrera.

    My My! The 997T must be the fastest feminine car in the world
    BTW The Cayman will be launched in Melbourne on 2/2/06 co-inciding with the Australian Grand Prix. would be interesting to see it "in the flesh"

    You are not alone in your sentiments; that is for sure...I delivered Club Car #4 two weeks before Christmas, and when
    Ken came back a week later with his Family he said the exact same thing, except he was referring to the Boxster sitting right alongside the Cayman on the Showroom floor...

    Seen a bunch of them on the road, and they are pretty awkward looking vehicles. That roof design is just hiedously oversized.


    To me, the Cayman looks like a fad design - something which will look dated VERY quickly. I'll give you about 6-12 months before talks of an upgrade to the 911 begin.

    Saw on last night on the road an another one parked , looked very nice but not Epic ... seems like a new Porsche sports-car should be a show stopper .

    I saw one for the first time on the road last Friday. Black/black with Carrera Classics. For those who've said it before, I'd have to agree, it actually does look surprisingly better in person than in pictures. As far as looking as good/better than a 911, I can't decide, they're different and I like them both. To say the Cayman looks like a woman's car, I'll have to wholeheartedly disagree.

    I saw a black one for the first time on road also last Thursday. Beautiful car in my opinion. As far as a woman's car, I would drive one (a beautiful woman was driving this car).

    The only thing I am disappointed about is that those lights in the vents, are not really "in the vents" The upper part of the vent is fake, closed with black plastic... that makes it look cheap, and therefore, I would have the car in a dark color, so it hides it a bit. For the rest... one perfect car!
