I have heard from my dealer that the Cayenne V8 turbo S would be the entry engine choice for the new Panamera with the CGT engine as the ultimate!

Since I doubt that the Panamera will be heavier than 2 tons, 600 HP would be sufficient for great performance.
RC - Do you mean 2 US Tons (4,000 lbs) or 2 metric tonnes (4,400 lbs)?

I'm pretty sure he meant metric.

Greetins to your dealer...C.R.A.P.
Entry level should be a 340+ HP V8 car, even a V6 can't be excluded if demand is high.
There will definetely be a V8 Turbo but I doubt it will have 521 HP like the Cayenne Turbo S. Somewhere around 450 HP is more likely. And the top model could be a V10 based on the Carrera GT engine, could. The top model should be somewhere in the up to 600 HP range. Since I doubt that the Panamera will be heavier than 2 tons, 600 HP would be sufficient for great performance.
But again: entry level is NOT the Turbo but a "simple" V8.

My guess is that the Cayenne Turbo S motor would be better than the CGT's in a heavy sedan. That extra torque would be handy.
Agree with you on the torque but the V10 would sound hell alot better

I'm still hoping for an AWD version with the CGT V10-and with VTG's.
